Our path we are not taking: E Pluribus Unum~ Out of many, One, under Holy conduct and Blessing~

You know, our current tax system is devised to control the economy, adverse to Free Enterprise.  We have for thirty years distributed industry around the world moving manufacturing from the USA.  That is the by-product of leaving a production tax structure in place when removing the borders on free trade.

Now we sit on the cliff and the rest of the world is linked to us.  If we fail, they fail.  If we would not accept the production tax and replace it with a consumption tax, needed for Free trade, We would heal the world prosperity and bring about fair trade to the American worker, who has to pay federal tax with wages, then again when buying American product or service.

That is the reason why you cannot have a production tax structure with free trade borders.  You put a handicap on American Industry.  Today it is over 22% of the average price on all product, including agriculture, is embedded federal tax.  29% is the average on services.

America has a history of free will, meaning that when an solution needed was huge is scope, they fear not change.  We are now at the edge of going into chains or Blessed Prosperity.  We need to but wake up, stop killing babies and embrace

E Pluribus Unum~ Out of many, One, under Holy conduct and Blessing~

Out of many, one is the same thing as saying, we leave no one behind. We are all free individuals, free as such, individual and no one dare try to take anyone's right, meant by the many in force.

Repeal 17th Amend.~ Sovereignty of States' have lost all power to lobbyists.

Senators used to be representing States' legislature, but now with the turning the US Senator from Republic to Democratic, the sovereignty of the States' have lost all power to the lobbyists.

Glenn J. Shapiro~

...It explains the why's of the 17th amendment and why it should be repealed.

Repeal the 17th Amendment.

One of the fundamental presumptions of the U.S. Constitution is this: when governmental power is consolidated and unlimited it is unresponsive to the needs of the governed. The framers originally sought to prevent the overreach of government by creating an elegant framework to distribute power as widely as possible through a structured competition of natural self-interests. It is for this reason that the framers preserved the integrity of the states, these independent but united "laboratories of democracy", and it is this federal system that the 17th Amendment (which provides for the direct, popular election of U.S. Senators) destroyed. This amendment has resulted in, as the framers predicted, a national government with influence, power and control unchecked by any political mechanism. This unlimited structure threatens the uniquely American way of life and the solvency of the national government.

The original design of the U.S. Constitution acknowledged that the several state governments were equipped better than the national government to address the vast majority of citizens' needs. The democratically elected officials of those state governments live among the people they represent.

USA on verge of new reality via falling off fiscal cliff~ FairTax will save us #tcot #sgp #p2

History shows the elites on both sides of the isle are for growing the National government power base. Otherwise, we would hear from one of the sides about FairTax, that changing the tax structure is what it takes to correct our fiscal cliff hanging. We will fall as the inflation of the QEs catches up. We have had easing without defining it as such, meaning QE3 happened two easing ago.

We are going to see 10 dollar gas before long. It is part of the long term plan to undo the remainder of the Constitution by implementing martial law brought on by our falling off this fiscal cliff. All the acts we see in DC are mere illusion dancing to lull us off the cliff.

When the GOP took power under Bush43, they proved that their platform they espoused is not the platform they are governing to obtain. It is a smokescreen to the hidden power of the Shadow elites of this world. The right danced to not go the way of statist, while the left pushed communism. The right compromised to the left continuously while the media painted the path for the leftists to take America down. Now we are to the breaking point, to a point where the Constitution is ignored in the dictatorial administering of Federal power thru Czars.

Constitutional conduct by all Governments, FairTax by all governments and enacting the Personhood Act is our only way to saving the Greatest Society ever Blessing this Planet.

Fwd: Tax reform in 2013 and closing arguments | FairTax Friday

"Nothing is stronger than an idea whose time has come." - Victor Hugo

2013 Tax Reform And Closing Arguments

If you paid attention to your TV before the election, you saw millions of dollars in advertising promoting or attacking candidates. If you didn't tune it out, you probably noticed that negative ads seemed to gradually decrease as we approached November 6.

This welcome change of tone in an election cycle is called a "closing argument." Ads become more positive and condense a candidate's best arguments into a personal appeal that a voter will remember as they walk into the voting booth.

So with tax reform on the agenda in Congress, we need to 'sell' the FairTax to fellow Americans like never before. Here is a closing argument for the FairTax:

The FairTax legislation eliminates over 72,000 pages of the tax code and regulations that depress our economy and frustrate the nation every April 15th – and every payday. Would you like to keep what you earn, control when you pay taxes and enjoy greater economic freedom? Do you want to bring American jobs back, along with the Made In America label?

Do you want to have greater economic opportunity for yourself, for your children and the following generation? With the FairTax , we can grow the economy like never before, shine transparency on Washington's lobbyist culture and make politicians accountable for what the government consumes.

But can we do this?

Tax reform will happen. It's only a matter of deciding what type of reform we get.

In fact, Representative Dave Camp, Chairman of the House Committee on Ways & Means just stated: "Let me repeat that: we intend to move a comprehensive tax reform bill in 2013 – no matter what."

As we emphasized in last week's FairTax Friday, the House Committee on Ways & Means is where tax reform will be decided. That makes the FairTax' strong showing at the tax symposium earlier this month even more impressive considering it took place in the Chairman's district!

With over 80 Congressmen and Senators having signed onto the FairTax legislation, the FairTax is the leading tax reform bill!

Additionally, with the looming fiscal cliff of the Congressional sequestration, it is imperative we ensure Washington hears from you that there is only one solution for America's economic crisis - the FairTax Plan.

Please take action on the right to make FairTax the law of the land.

Thank you!

Update: The FairTax in Chile?

Last week we told you about Jim Bennett, FairTax leader from New Jersey, and his planned meeting with Miguel Zamora, legislative counsel at the Ministry of Economics in Santiago, Chile.

We are delighted that the FairTax was well received in Chile and wanted to share a portion of Jim's excellent report:

"I met the morning of November 14, 2012 with Miguel Zamora, Tax Policy Coordinator, Chilean Ministry of Economics ("Hacienda") at his office in Santiago. Ahead of the meeting, Mr. Zamora had been given the link to the FairTax site and sent a copy of: 1) the FairTax bill; 2) the Tuerck paper on the economic effects of the FairTax; and 3) the Kotlikoff-Tuerck paper on what rate works.

Mr. Zamora is a person who can make things happen in Chile if he is interested. And he is - in the FairTax.

I brought with me a printout of a PowerPoint similar to the one I usually use for congressional briefings but pitched to a more theoretical level. I also adapted the presentation to the Chilean tax system. The choice of level turned out to be right. Zamora had a quick grasp of complex issues.

I expressed my interest as a private citizen in talking to the Chilean government about the FairTax by stating that I could not predict where the conversation would lead. But if Chile were to become the first country to adopt a true FairTax, there would be pressure on my own country for our legislators to follow.

It helped that I understood the mechanics of VAT's. Chile has its IVA (Impuesto al Valor Agregado). For Chile to have the equivalent of the FairTax, it would have to expand the base of its IVA. I showed Mr. Zamora the Tuerck study indicating that the rate, with prebate, could actually be lower, even though it replaces itself and includes revenue from other eliminated taxes. Mr. Zamora was familiar with the fact that there is no US federal VAT but state sales taxes."

FairTax: The answer to our national, critical financial crisisMidland Daily News

…America's economy continues to sputter along, unable to support the roughly 12 million people who were unemployed in September, of which 40 percent have been so for six months or more. The American people deserve a Congress that will seriously address the root cause of the problem – a 73,608-page tax code that is slowly destroying free enterprise and polarizing the American people into a nation of haves and have-nots.  This is not a partisan Republican or Democratic issue.  Rather, it is an American issue that goes to our ability as a nation to remain a free and independent republic.

I was honored to participate in Northwood University's recent Tax Symposium. The distinguished panel had a lively discussion about the tax reform imperative that Congress must immediately address.  Midland, Michigan was the perfect setting for this important discussion because, as Congressman Fred Upton once said, "People in Michigan are good at separating fact from fiction. They know, better than most of the country, what happens to the economy and jobs when the scales are tipped too far in favor of one group over another."

A growing number of Americans have separated fact from fiction and have determined that the only viable tax reform solution is to replace the current federal income tax system with a federal consumption-based tax plan that taxes individuals on what they spend, not what they earn…

- Leo Linbeck, Jr.

Fair Tax Needed - Sit News

Dear Editor,

The income tax creates a stagnant economy for the United States.  Companies have moved overseas to give their investors a tax advantage.  They will not return to the U.S. until our system gives them an advantage in the world market.

The answer to this is The Fair Tax Plan.  It will: eliminate income tax and the IRS, jump-start the economy, bring jobs back to the US, capture untaxed dollars currently lost to criminal and offshore businesses, allow you to keep 100% of your paycheck, let you save all the money you want and pay taxes only when you spend it, eliminate taxes you don't even know you are paying, lower interest rates and make April 15 just another beautiful spring day. If everyone tells their congressman to support HR25, we can turn this economy around as soon as it is enacted.

Governor Scott Walker says no to Obamacare in Wisconsin

November 16, 2012

Dear Secretary Sebelius:

Please accept this letter as official notification to the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services that Wisconsin will not build a state-based health insurance exchange and will defer to
the federal government's insurance exchange.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) gives states three options in building
health insurance exchanges: an exchange built and managed by an individual state subject to
federal mandate; a partnership plan requiring the state to perform functions on behalf of the
federal government; or a federal exchange developed by the federal government. While the
three options differ in who initially builds and operates the exchange, all three options are
identical in that they are governed and controlled by federal policy. No matter which option is
chosen, Wisconsin taxpayers will not have meaningful control over the health care policies and
services sold to Wisconsin residents. If the state option is chosen; however, Wisconsinites face
risk from a federal mandate lacking long-term guaranteed funding.

In Wisconsin, we have been successful in providing health insurance coverage to over 90
percent of state residents without the creation of an exchange and absent federal regulation.
We have a long history of being a leader on health reform issues, and with more guidance and
greater state flexibility, our competitive market system would have ensured health insurance
coverage to the most vulnerable Wisconsinites without federalization of our market.
Unfortunately, operating a state exchange would not provide the flexibility to meet our state's
unique needs or to protect our state's taxpayers.

Therefore, after much consideration and outreach with citizens across the state, and in the best
interest of the taxpayers of Wisconsin, we have determined Wisconsin will not develop a
partnership or state-based exchange.

Sincerely,

Scott Walker

Governor of Wisconsin

Michigan can nullify Obamacare and Social Security

Michigan legislature is in the middle of healthcare exchange talks. You need to be aware that Obamacare is headed before the SCOTUS again on religious grounds.

Also, when the first exemption or waver to Obamacare was granted, it also made the entire process unconstituitonal on it's face. But it also made it possible for Michigan to opt out of Obamacare for we citizens and that means the fees and penalties too.

My suggestion is for Michigan to go to an HSA/IRA privately owned to replace social security and medicare, using a transitional opt out plan. If you are skeptical that Michigan cannot opt out of these federal programs, look to Galveston, TX, who opted out of social security as a city.

If we go down the road the federal government has mapped out, it will destroy us fiscally and is unconstitutional for the Federal Government to tell us what to buy, let alone control property or the use thereof.

Fwd: The election difference, Northwood update and Chile! | FairTax Friday

"The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave." - Patrick Henry

The Election Difference - And Opportunity

Harry S. Truman once said, "It's not the hand that signs the laws that holds the destiny of America.  It's the hand that casts the ballot." On Tuesday, as she has done for well over 200 years, America cast her ballot during our national election.

The most divisive, contentious and expensive campaign in history finally came to an end. Yet, on Wednesday morning we found out not much had changed. Two of our FairTax co-sponsors in the House lost their races, others retired, some ran for other offices and new FairTax supporters were elected.

America is still a divided nation, the House is still controlled by the Republicans, and the Senate is still in the hands of the Democratic majority. Oh, and President Obama still gets to live at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.  No, not much changed.

Yet, something did change and it's important.

Almost immediately the President and Congressional leaders began making statements about their willingness to finally seek bipartisan solutions for the looming "Fiscal Cliff." You also began to hear the "compromise" word. Early indications lead one to believe that major tax reform will be at the top of the agenda.

Since all tax legislation begins in the House Ways and Means (W&M) Committee, it is critical that we redouble our efforts there.

It is imperative that we do three things, do them really well and do them quickly.

First, as fast as possible, make sure that we have 3,000 active FairTax members in every W&M member district.

Second, make sure that every W&M member knows there are 3,000+ FairTax activists in their district.

Third, make sure the activists in both W&M and every other Congressional district are regularly writing, emailing and calling their Representative to explain why they support the FairTax.

If you live in a W&M district your efforts could be pivotal in getting the FairTax out of committee and to the full House.  If you are not familiar with the members of the W&M Committee, go here.

Finally, we have recently placed Opinion Editorials in major publications across the nation and Alaska.

Getting the professional support that can assist with writing and pitching ideas to editors takes funds. We would like to immediately expand that initiative into W&M districts during the next 60 days.

If you can help us with this special PR effort, please send your donation to my attention.  You can print a donation form here. If you would prefer to make an online donation, go here. If you donate to this effort online, please let me know at campaigns@fairtax.org.

Thank you!

Sucess at the Northwood Tax Symposium

A distinguished panel of tax policy experts found common ground and expressed deep interest in the FairTax during a recent Tax Symposium at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan.

The Symposium was hosted by Dr. Keith Pretty, Northwood University President and Moderated by Dr. Timothy Nash, Northwood Vice President and Endowed Professor of Free Market Economics.

Dr. Maurice McTigue, Vice President of the George Mason University Mercatus Center, argued that a majority of the population believes the current tax system is unfair. Interestingly, he also spoke about how framing the argument for a reform plan can determine whether the public will accept it or not. This is an important element for all FairTaxers.

He illustrated his point with this example: Someone makes $10K and pays $1K in taxes while someone making $100K pays $10K in taxes or 10 times as much.  People might say, that's great; the person making more should pay more in taxes. Yet, when one says I think a 10% flat tax for everyone is the right way to go, those same people will immediately say, "that's not fair." Same amount of tax framed differently garners a totally different response. Is how your framing the FairTax helping or hurting the FairTax?

The FairTax was exceptionally represented by Leo Linbeck, Jr., AFFT Co-Founder and Chairman of the board, who provided a brief history on the origins of the FairTax, then articulated why taxing consumption is superior to taxing production adding, "I don't think it was an accident when the great sage Karl Marx said in his Communist Manifesto, to maintain a communist system the second most important feature is a highly graduated income tax system."

David Olander, Majority Counsel for the House Ways and Means (W&M) Committee, also reiterated W&M Chairman Dave Camp's commitment to comprehensive tax reform, stating he felt there is general agreement that the tax code is littered with special rules that don't lend themselves to the economic growth we need.

Olander spurred a discussion on scoring when he said the W&M and Senate Finance Committees rely on estimates for tax proposals from an "independent body of economists within Congress called the Joint Committee on Taxation…..they are sort of viewed as the Supreme Court as to what the budgetary effects will be."

Linbeck seized on the opportunity adding, "I just wish that the scorers would score HR 25, the FairTax bill. To date, not a single scoring has been published on HR 25. We've had scoring on a national sales tax but not on HR 25."

The Joint Committee on Taxation uses the static scoring methodology.  McTigue voiced his concern about this particular scoring methodology saying, "if your scoring mechanism doesn't work, it is stupid to stick with it. You can't static score and get it right.  If you are going to rely on that, your politicians are going to make bad decisions because they're using bad information." Many in the audience agreed with McTigue.

Linbeck was joined by AFFT Co-Founder Bob McNair, AFFT national campaign manager Cynthia Canevaro, and AFFT business and legal affairs director Louis Gurwitch; and a host of FairTax leaders from around the country including Ron Babin, Michigan FairTax Association (MFTA) President, Doug Friedrichsen, Kansas 3rd District Director, Steve Hayes, Board of Directors, Florida FairTax Educational Association, and many more from Indiana, Illinois and Ohio.

Special thanks to the MFTA for their outstanding support during and after the event!

You may go here and watch the symposium in its' entirety. If you struggle with how to present the FairTax, or would just like to simplify your delivery, please pay special attention to Mr. Linbeck's initial remarks and his answers during the Q&A.  Please note it takes a little while for the broadcast to fully load and the audio quality improves after the first few minutes.

The FairTax In Chile?

Congratulations to Jim Bennett, a very valuable and creative FairTax leader from New Jersey!

Jim serves as a board member of the FairTax America Support Team (FAST) and is the North Atlantic Regional Director, and is taking the good news about the FairTax around the world!

Jim decided that during his family's trip to South America, he would see if he could meet with someone from the Chilean government so he could learn about their tax structure and share with them the FairTax Plan.

On November 12, Jim will be meeting with Miguel Zamora, legislative counsel at the Ministry of Economics in Santiago, Chile. Mr. Zamora is responsible for tax legislation proposed by the Chilean Government.

Jim's idea to seek a meeting came from his thinking about the Chilean government's 30-year tradition of free-market economics and his son's nursing internship in neighboring Argentina. Who knows, maybe someday Chile will adopt the FairTax plan. Go Jim go!

The FairTax Act in the News

Column: Adopting Fair Tax Act will improve American livingThe Shorthorn

Income tax and the Internal Revenue Service have been "the law of the land" throughout the life of every American-born citizen working today.

We, as Americans, haven't lived under any other system.

But, there is a better way—it's called the FairTax Act…

Congress should bring the act before the American people, give it the national discussion it deserves and then adopt it. Had the FairTax Act been adopted four years ago, Americans would not have suffered through the worst economic period since the Great Depression…

- Glen Terrell

Fair Tax would be good for Huntsville and AmericaAL.com

…With U.S. unemployment holding persistently at 8+% for over 43 months, and an August Bureau of Labor Statistics report that showed a disappointing 96,000 new jobs created last month with four job seekers dropping out of the market for every one who found a job, it is clear that America's economy needs a boost.

The national debate continues over how to stimulate economic growth - whether to spend or save our way out of debt. However, many are failing to address a major root cause of the problem - the 73,608-page Federal Income Tax Code, full of loopholes, contradictions and inequities that stymie business growth and polarize Americans into haves and have-nots.

For a growing number of Americans, it is becoming clear that the only solution is replacement of the current Federal Income Tax system with the FairTax®, a federal consumption-based tax on what individuals spend, not what they earn. The FairTax is a new, simple, transparent and totally equitable system of taxation that levels the economic playing field…

Obamacare Ruling defines Michigan fees as taxes and not Headlee approved.

Sean Furr The supreme court did not approve obamacare, they actually made a declaration that the Democrats were trying to avoid. The case was about the individual mandate and more specifically the fine. The court declared the fine to actually be a tax. They then upheld the constitutional power of congress to lay and collect taxes. This removed any reference to the commerce clause, which would have been a very slippery slope to allowing the government to force us to buy anything they wanted.

There is another case about Obamacare coming up and SCOTUS is expected to take it up, this fall maybe.  Can't remember, but it may be on the first amendment of freedom of religion.  A fee is a Tax.  What was the name of that Court decision.  We have a problem, huge problem with Michigan good ole boys.  We a driver responsibility fee.  It is on all infractions and first one is $300 for no proof of insurance, for example, $600 second offense.  This is on top of the Court. What would these be if called a tax, as the Obamacare Supreme Court case has don?
