Mi FairTax Clarion Sentinel: AT RISK, YOUR FUTURE!|Which Gov Cand. will endorse to put on Ballot?

Which of the Gubernatorial candidates for Michigan will declare their support and endorse putting the MiFairTax Plan on the ballot for the Citizens to endorse?  George

Drummers and MFTA Logo
mifairtax.org official newsletter vol. 8
Just as taxes were at the heart of the first American Revolution, they are a major part of the second one.  Our tax system is wasting trillions, catering to special interests, and stifling economic development.  It is projected by leading economists that the MICHIGAN FAIRTAX proposal would attract business to Michigan, create jobs, and lay the foundation for a national FairTax bill which could truly reestablish individual financial freedom and revive our national economy.
Your interest and participation putting the MICHIGAN FAIRTAX on the ballot could not come at a better time!  A business friendly tax system should be simple to understand and execute, transparent with no hidden agendas so people can know how much government is costing, and fairly applied to all citizens without increasing the cost of basic necessities.  Our third President, Thomas Jefferson said,
"I think it an object of great importance...to simplify our system of finance... We might hope to see the finances of the Union as clear and intelligible as a merchant's books, so that every member of Congress, and every man of any mind in the Union, should be able to comprehend them, to investigate them, and consequently to control them."
The federal FairTax (HR-25) and the MI FairTax does all of these things.  Your help educating the public and our elected officials about the true provisions of these reform bills would be most appreciated..
FairTax Friday:
"The FairTax is the biggest most massive transfer of power from the government to the people in the history of this country since the Declaration of Independence".

Why the FairTax Prebate?    *Economist's who have studied FairTax legislation, agree that a FairTax, adopted by any governmental unit, would result in a growing economy.
Some economists predict a growth rate of 10% the first year. Economists also predict a sustained growth rate in succeeding years. The Michigan FairTax proposal provides our best hope for escaping the economic "perfect storm" which has engulfed Michigan in fiscal chaos.
MI FairTax, the solution that provides Michigan a bright future!

Eliminate the buying and selling of tax favors.
The cancer which is destroying our state government.

Guarantee citizens a larger share of their earnings.
By Working, By Saving, By Investing.

Remove hidden taxes from goods and services.
Create Jobs in Michigan, a magnet for business growth.
Protect everyone from taxation on necessities.
Untax everyone's consumption up to poverty level.

There were 275,000 more that day in Washington as part of the ONLINETAXREVOLT, and still our elected leaders have trouble hearing. Could it really be? Could a proposed piece of legislation at both the state and national level really be about something that benefits all Americans? Well there is one proposal crafted by economists not politicians, economists whose sole goal was to answer the question: Why are the U.S. state and national economies dying?  The positive effects of this legislation dwarfs anything suggested in the last 233 years of our republic. When people hear the benefits they say: "Yeah, but it will never happen"! What does that mean? Does it mean we refuse to demand our leaders defend our rights under the constitution? The FairTax is a goody bag of benefits for all Americans, jobs, more money, less government intrusion in our lives, smaller government, more accountable government, more responsive government, the list goes on and on. TO GOOD TO BE TRUE? The answer to that one lies in you the reader of this article. It will not happen without your help and commitment. No government can stand against an aroused constituency, there are more of us than there are of them!

Citizen Link-Take Action to stop Bill: House Set to Vote on Campaign Finance Bill~require donors be named in adds

Special Alert

June 15, 2010

Editor's note: The U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on this legislation Tuesday, June 15th. Please call your representative today.
CitizenLink has joined more than 50 groups in asking the U.S. House of Representatives to oppose H.R. 5175, the DISCLOSE Act. The group letter was sent June 10th.
The legislation comes in response to the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling that rolled back certain campaign-finance restrictions. It aims to expand the scope of such regulations to strangle free speech.
The DISCLOSE Act will place burdensome restrictions on the ability of nonprofits to engage in free speech and advocate for families and consumers. For example, the bill would force a group's top donors to appear in any political commercials, even those who aren't donors to the specific ad. It would also mean that all top donors' names would be disclosed, even if they aren't funding any part of the political communication. CitizenLink and other pro-family groups would be affected.
"The bill aims to silence political speech by intimidation and onerous regulation," the groups wrote.
Please ask your U.S. representative to oppose the DISCLOSE Act. You can find contact information here.

Hutaree Update by Chuck Baldwin, 5/14/10 ~punishing people because of their speech or political associations seems to be exactly where America is heading.

> With much media fanfare, 9 members of a Michigan militia were arrested last
> March and charged with "seditious conspiracy"--specifically, plotting to
> murder law enforcement officers. Ostensibly, this was supposed to
> precipitate some kind of wholesale revolt against the government. Question:
> Have any of you heard anyone from the propaganda press corps (national news
> media) tell you what has been happening with this case? No? Did you not
> wonder why? Well, I'll tell you why: the case has fallen apart.
> The first indication of the Feds' case going bad was a local report in the
> Toledo (Ohio) Blade, dated April 28, 2010. "An FBI agent who led the
> investigation of nine Michigan militia members charged with trying to launch
> war against the federal government couldn't recall many details of the
> two-year probe yesterday during questioning by defense lawyers.
> "Even the judge who must decide whether to release the nine until trial was
> puzzled.
> "'I share the frustrations of the defense team . . . that she doesn't know

> Can you believe testimony such as this was given in a court of law by a
> supposedly intelligent federal officer--an agent who had supposedly compiled
> the evidence that was used to arrest and incarcerate these supposedly
> "dangerous militia members"? If it wasn't so serious, this would be a joke!
> Remember that it was a federal informant who had infiltrated the group and
> even offered to teach Hutaree members how to make improvised explosive

> provided ample evidence that members of the Hutaree are passionately
> anti-government--what decent person ISN'T--they haven't been able to
> demonstrate that the group did anything more than engage in survivalist
> training and indulge in apocalyptic rhetoric." (Emphasis in the original.)
> As a result, Judge Roberts found the government's case sorely lacking.
> "Discussions about killing local law enforcement officers--and even
> discussions about killing members of the judicial branch of government--do
> not translate to conspiring to overthrow, or levy war against, the United
> States government," she wrote, ordering that the Hutaree suspects be
> released on bail.
> About which, Grigg wrote, "Since the federal case against the Hutaree rests

> However, the bigger question is, How far will Big-Government toadies try to

@GovMikeHuckabee~Morality Affects Our Economy |Just ask Michigan

MIchigan, in the year 1963 when the New York Times headline read, "God is Dead", had 3 Prisons.  In the year 2000, less then thirty years later, Michigan had 33 prisons.

Huck PAC Newsletter

Many of you saw the comments made by Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels last week when he said the next president "would have to call a truce on the so-called social issues" so he or she could focus on the fiscal problems facing the country.

As I've made clear, I really like Governor Daniels, and I consider him a friend and colleague, but his comments mirror those of the GOP establishment who view values voters dismissively as "single-minded." The fact is that every value voter I know is truly committed to fiscal conservatism, but many fiscal conservatives and libertarians range from disinterest to contempt for social issues..

I learned a lot during 13 1/2 years as a Governor and Lieutenant Governor about why government gets big and taxes get higher and what causes and solves the issues of poverty and crime. I detailed a lot of that in my book "Do the Right Thing," but here's the simple truth: Poverty and crime are the direct results of broken families and broken values of responsibility, work, marriage, and respect of others. Prisons are overflowing and government "relief" programs get traction often because of the breakdown of our social structure. If we don't respect the value of each individual life whether in the womb or the classroom or the living room, we devalue property and intangible qualities of life. It gets expensive.

I responded to Gov. Daniel's comments with the following blog post on HuckPAC.com: " . . . the issue of life and traditional marriage are not bargaining chips nor or they political issues. They are moral issues. I didn't get involved in politics just to lower taxes and deficit spending though I believe in both and have done it as a Governor. But I want to stay true to the basic premises of our civilization."
Sadly, Gov. Daniels is not alone in his way of thinking and it's not a new concept. During the last presidential election – many reporters, Republicans and Democrats suggested the same moratorium on morality. The political winds began to whisper of stopping the discussion on morality and starting the discussion on the "important issues."

Let me be clear – MORALITY AND THE ECONOMY are inextricably linked.

• The collapse of morality and ethical business practices preceded the collapse of Wall Street – unchecked greed caused the downfall;

• A decrease in morality preceded an increase in the prison population – state budgets via taxes, increase every year to pay for prisons; and,

• We don't emphasize character in our public schools, and ignorance is expensive-- a national high school drop out rate of 1 in 3 students produces poverty – crippling our economy in countless ways.

I'm not saying Wall Street, prisons and poverty are not the only influences on our economy – there are countless others – nor am I saying morality solves every economic crisis we face. But I am saying strong moral fiber would prevent many of our nation's economic disasters.

Should we focus on the economy and the staggering and crippling debt? Absolutely! But I fear that talk of a "truce" means that we are making excuses for compromise on moral issues, and there is no need to separate economic issues from the social issues. We can and must focus on both.

Now is not the time to shift focus from moral issues we need to shift focus toward moral issues.

[Hello Michigan] New comment on 'Can a Tax Be 'Fair'?'~Quick list of FairTax Fixes-Daar

Daar has left a new comment on the post "Can a Tax Be 'Fair'?":

A "quick list" of FairTax "fixes" can be ascertained from our postings above, Rose:

• Returns control of the family purse to the family.
• Income tax withholding ended.
• Federal gov't paid, only as families spend and benefit.
• "The rate" is an easily-graspable indicator of fed. costs to families.
• Only those who are genuinely subsistent pay no tax.
• The income tax code is gone.
• Social engineering gone with the tax code.
• Lobbyist numbers shrink by half - no more tax favors.
• FairTax far less prone to corruptible manipulation.
• The wealthy pay their fair share.
• Taxpayers have "new at retail" purchasing "strike" power to express displeasure.
• Externalizes taxes that are buried in prices - makes true tax load visible.
• FairTax can be jettisoned prior to export, enhancing our exports, and correcting current border problems.
• Trillions of dollars resting off-shore is repatriated.
• The U.S. becomes the global home of business formation, and will set the pace for other nations.
• Prebate replaces bureaucratically code-mediated credits, deductions with cold hard cash against EVERY CITIZEN's basic needs.
• No more income tax returns.
• No more IRS.
• No more threats by IRS (audits, interest, penalites, and worse!)
• Income tax withholding ended.
• Minimizes ability of gov't to compete against private enterprise (non-tax exempt) thereby encouraging "limited gov't."
• Eliminates the current "permission to live" income tax (i..e., tax liability ceases to be incurred by working).
• Purported 4th Amendment violations of income tax system, fixed.
• Purported 5th Amendment violations of income tax system, fixed.
• Purported 1st Amendment violations of income tax system, fixed.
• FairTax clears away the confusion and clutter (and intended Congressional obfuscation) that hampers a clearer focus on Congressional spending because it ends the ability of pitting poor against rich.

The FairTax does not purport to fix Congress's spending problem (that is not its domain); it does, however, remove impediments to focusing on the issue, increases taxpayer's ascention to wealth, and provides options to express their displeasure (other than ceasing to make income).

Still you believe that the FairTax "fixes nothing"?

Post a comment.
