Radical Left-Wing Group ACORN To, AGAIN,
Receive MILLIONS of Taxpayer Dollars
Congressional Cut-Off of ACORN Funding a Sham:
Tell Congress to Cut Their Funds PERMANENTLY!

Dear Friend,

You probably heard that, as a result of the overwhelming scandals that the radical left-wing group "ACORN" is involved in, and after a HUGE public outcry, Congress recently voted to de-fundthem.

WE WERE LIED TO! Congress only voted to de-fund ACORN for ONE MONTH -- which means we have to fight hard AGAIN to FORCE them to defund this far-left group... PERMANENTLY!

TELL CONGRESS TO DEFUND THE RADICAL
LEFTIST GROUP "ACORN" PERMANENTLY:

SEND YOUR FAXES NOW!

"ACORN" -- the "Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now" -- is a far-left group of "community organizers" that has not only worked extra hard to support liberal causes and get Barack Hussein Obama elected -- they broke numerous laws in the process.

And YOUR taxpayer dollars helped them to do it!

During the last two election cycles, ACORN has been under investigation for election fraud and related offenses in nearly 20 states, for crimes ranging from false voter registrations and illegal voting, to identity theft and records tampering, to using felons as registration workers. And, recently, a private undercover "sting" operation showed ACORN employees were willing to help human sex slave traffickers to run their illegal "businesses" (including child prostitution) -- and how to dodge having to pay taxes, on top of it!

According to the Employment Policies Institute, ACORN is a non-profit (but not federally tax-exempt) organization at the center of a vast web of groups run by long-time anti-corporate activist Wade Rathke and a handful of his closest allies. It operates in at least 38 states, as well as in Canada, Mexico, and Peru, and is integral in a fight to prevent Foreign Direct Investment in India. Rathke said ACORN plans to continue its growth by adding offices in 100 new cities over the next five years, after seeing 100 percent growth in offices between 2003 and 2004. ACORN claims 200,000 member families (though member dues only account for eight percent of the organization's massive budget), and represents approximately 80,000 union members. It operates "social justice" radio stations, community television groups, and a magazine. It runs home mortgage and tax counseling centers, a voter-mobilization organization, left-wing schools, a furniture company, a consulting firm, and a law/lobbying firm.

It's funded by YOU AND ME -- to the tune of MILLIONS OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS YEARLY!

In fact, ACORN has received more than $53 million in direct taxpayer funding since 1994, and countless millions more through grants from financial institutions throughout the country. And, bills passed this year could give ACORN access to as much as $10 billion more.

The American people were so upset with the extent of ACORN's crimin al activities that we demanded that Congress de-fund this radical leftist group. Last month, Congress was forced to do so -- but they TRICKED us, and now ACORN is set to start getting taxpayer funding again, starting on November 1st!

And that means WE have to take action NOW!

TELL CONGRESS TO DEFUND THE RADICAL
LEFTIST GROUP "ACORN" PERMANENTLY:

SEND YOUR FAXES NOW!

Shortly after five videos aired on national television, showing ACORN staffers advising people how to falsify tax forms and seek illegal benefits for young girls from El Salvador, to be illegally imported for a child prostitute ring, the Senate voted 83-7 and the House of Representatives voted 345-75 to cut off all funds to ACORN. The Census Bureau, which was set to let ACORN help them with the upcoming national count (which determines distribution of Congressional seats!), cut ties with the group last month. The IRS says it will no longer associate with ACORN through its tax assistance program either.

So we're all good, right? No more taxpayer dollars for ACORN -- right? Hooray!

NOT SO FAST.  Last week, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) revealed that federal funding will again start flowing to ACORN -- at midnight, Halloween night.

TRICK OR TREAT! As Representative Bachmann pointed out, "when the clock hits midnight on Halloween night, the spigot of federal tax money will open wide open again... and they'll be back in the money." That's OUR money they'll be scooping up into their big plastic pumpkins -- to continue funding their radical far-left agenda!

CONGRESS WILL GET AWAY WITH THIS TRAVESTY -- unless we take action, expose what they've done, and FORCE them to do the RIGHT thing!

So, we've set up our website to enable you to send "Blast Faxes" to every single U.S. Congressman and Senator AT ONCE, demanding that they DEFUND this leftist "community organizer" group permanently!

For about what it would cost you in time and telephone charges, you can send Blast Faxes to Democrats, Republicans, Independents -- EVERYONE in the U.S. Congress, DEMANDING that they defund ACORN once and for all!

TELL CONGRESS TO DEFUND THE RADICAL
LEFTIST GROUP "ACORN" PERMANENTLY:

SEND YOUR FAXES NOW!

Please, take action right away to DEFUND ACORN!

Gary Kreep
Executive Director
Republican Majority Campaign PAC

P.S.  What's even more insane in all of this is, when ACORN was finally going to be defunded -- even though it was only for one month -- they received a million dollar grant from Homeland Security for -- get this -- FIRE SAFETY! They received 80% of the money for fire safety that was supposed to go to states like Louisiana!

THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS -- and it MUST be stopped! Send your faxes right away to make sure Congress gets a STRONG message, to DE-FUND this radical left-wing organization NOW -- and this time, MAKE IT PERMANENT! Thank you!

TELL CONGRESS TO DEFUND THE RADICAL
LEFTIST GROUP "ACORN" PERMANENTLY:

SEND YOUR FAXES NOW!

You will love this: Presidential kittens

 Subject: Presidential kittens

A pretty little girl named Suzy was standing on the sidewalk in front of her home. Next to her was a basket containing a number tiny creatures; in her hand was a sign announcing FREE KITTENS.

Suddenly a line of big black cars pulled up beside her. Out of the lead car stepped a tall, grinning man.

"Hi there, little girl, I'm President Obama. What do you have in the basket?" he asked.

"Kittens." little Suzy said.

How old are they? asked Obama.

Suzy replied, "They're so young, their eyes aren't even open yet."

"And what kind of kittens are they?"

"Democrats," answered Suzy with a smile.

Obama was delighted. As soon as he returned to his car, he called his PR chief and told him about the little girl and the kittens.

Recognizing the perfect photo op, the two men agreed that the president should return the next day, and, in front of the assembled media, have the girl talk about her discerning kittens.

So the next day, Suzy was again standing on the sidewalk with her basket of "FREE KITTENS" when another motorcade pulled up, this time followed by vans from ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN.

Cameras and audio equipment were quickly set up, then Obama got out of his limo and walked over to little Suzy.

"Hello, again," he said, "Id love it if you would tell all my friends out there what kind of kittens you're giving away."

"Yes sir," Suzy said. "They're Republicans."

Taken by surprise, the president stammered, "But... but... yesterday, you told me they were DEMOCRATS."

Little Suzy smiled and said, "I know. But today, they have their eyes open."

Michigan Man Sues for Right to Put Back Family's Nativity Scene on Public Median

Thursday , October 29, 2009

By Joshua Rhett Miller

A Michigan man has filed a federal lawsuit claiming his constitutional rights were violated when he was ordered to remove a Nativity scene from the median of a public road — a creche that his family has displayed at the location for 63 years.

John Satawa, of Warren, Mich., filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court on Friday in an attempt to be allowed to put back the 8- by 8-foot Nativity scene his late father built in 1945.

After receiving a complaint by the Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation last December, the Road Commission of Macomb County told Satawa to remove the holiday display, citing incomplete permits. Satawa's permit application was later denied because it "clearly displays a religious message" and violated "separation of church and state," Macomb County Highway Engineer Robert Hoepfner wrote.

Satawa says he simply wants to restore the "tradition" on the median between Mound and Chicago Roads outside of St. Anne's Parish Church.

"The Nativity display has been a tradition not just for my family, but for the whole community for 63 years," Satawa told Foxnews.com in a statement. "I am disappointed the Road Commission would not stand up for our community and our Constitution and that is why I was compelled to file this lawsuit."

According to Satawa's lawsuit, St. Anne's Parish received a donation of Christmas statues in March 1945 that were too large to house inside the church — so they were moved to the public median outside. Jack Eckstein, president of the village of Warren at the time, granted permission for the move.

"As a result, a Christmas tradition was born," the lawsuit reads.

The Nativity display has been there every Christmas season since, except for one — 1996 — when there was road construction. The creche returned the following year, according to the lawsuit.

But last year, just 14 days before Christmas, Satawa received a letter from the Macomb County Road Commission instructing him to "immediately remove" the Nativity scene within 30 days. Satawa removed the structure and was denied a permit when he reapplied in January. In March, he received a formal denial of his petition to erect the nativity scene because, according to county officials, it would be a violation of the First Amendment, which prohibits government from making laws "respecting an establishment of religion."

"It boils down to maintaining a tradition that's been going on for six decades and one letter received from an out-of-state radical organization," attorney Brian Rooney of the Thomas More Law Center told Foxnews.com. "We believe this shows hostility towards Christianity."

The Thomas More Law Center filed the lawsuit on Satawa's behalf, alleging the Road Commission's restriction violates his First Amendment rights and equal protection guarantee under the Fourteenth Amendment.

"We're very confident," Rooney said. "We believe the law of the Constitution is on our side."

But Ben Aloia, an attorney representing the Macomb County Road Commission, disagreed, citing Allegheny v. ACLU of Pittsburgh, in which the Supreme Court held in 1989 that a county government's Nativity scene displayed at a courthouse was an unconstitutional endorsement of religion.

"We believe that our decision is in line with that rule of law," Aloia said. "The fact is, he's never acquired a formal permit to install this Nativity scene."

Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, said the creche is also a traffic hazard.

"You can't see around it," she told Foxnews.com. "We are a nation of rules and laws, and that law even applies to St. Anne's Parish. I can't understand why they can't put the scene on their church grounds. They're trying to take over public property for their religious purposes, and that's not allowed."

Rooney said an emergency injunction will be filed within the next two weeks in an attempt to make sure the Nativity scene returns in time for the upcoming holiday season.

Satawa, meanwhile, says he has received support from hundreds of neighbors.

"This response is the USA I like," he said, "people that are not afraid to stand up for what is right."

Cap-and-Trade Bill Would Harm Families
by Kim Trobee, editor

Testimonies on cap and trade legislation describe the consequences of environmental taxes on families.

The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee is considering a cap and trade bill that purportedly takes aim at global warming.

Under a cap-and-trade scheme, the government would set a limit or "cap" on emissions of carbon dioxide. If, for example, a company goes over the limit, the government would force it to buy "credits" from other companies deemed by government to be producing less carbon dioxide than the cap allows. In countries where it has been tried, fraud has been rampant.

Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., chairs the committee and is co-author of the bill. She claims the legislation would create jobs, but that contradicts a statement made to Congress earlier this month by the director of the Congressional Budget Office that said cap and trade would cause "significant" job losses.

NPR is conducting a survey on what you think of the White House's assertion that Fox News Network does not do real news.

Please consider casting your vote - and then sending this e-mail to everyone!

If you haven't heard this, the White House is accusing Fox News of not being a legitimate source of news, calling them biased, etc. They have tried to block Fox reporters from news conferences, etc.

NPR has put a survey online for us to voice our opinion. If you want to vote in this survey, go to the link below and cast your vote. Currently it is 50% in favor of the White House, but there are not that many votes.

Let's show them how we feel about Fox's news reporting.

Senator BrownI- Submitted MI Resolution to electronically transmit troop ballot & return it by mail

Quote from below: ...troops serving overseas must print off the
electronically transmitted ballot and return it by mail to the clerk...

Cameron Brown sent a message to the members of Senator Cameron S. Brown for
Michigan Secretary of State 2010.

--------------------
Subject: Defending the rights of those who defend us

Dear Friends,

Please take a look at the press announcement below that details legislation
I introduced this week on behalf of Michigan's men and women in uniform. I
hope you'll join me in supporting this effort.

Your Friend,

Cameron

Sen. Brown introduces bill to make voting easier for troops

LANSING - Sen. Cameron S. Brown introduced legislation this week that will
make it easier for members of the military stationed overseas to vote in
Michigan elections.

"Troops from Michigan are defending our rights – including our right to
vote – all around the world," said Brown, R-Fawn River Township. "We have an
obligation to ensure their right to vote is protected here at home."

In past elections, overseas mailing delays have resulted in ballots from
many troops not being received in time to be counted. Earlier this year,
the Pew Center on the States gave Michigan a failing grade for not yet
identifying a way to send and receive ballots in a more timely matter.

"This is a time issue," Brown said. "The solution is to help expedite the
transmission of information to overseas troops without compromising the
integrity of the ballot."

According to the Macomb County clerk's office, nearly 30 percent of absentee
ballots mailed overseas were not returned before Election Day. Meanwhile,
only three percent of absentee ballots mailed by the clerk's office to
voters within the U.S. were not returned in time.

Brown's legislation would allow county, city, township and village clerks to
electronically transmit voter registration applications, absentee ballot
applications and absentee ballots to overseas troops. To vote, troops
serving overseas must print off the electronically transmitted ballot and
return it by mail to the clerk.

"This is a simple, common sense step we can take to make sure our troops can
participate in the democracy they safeguard every day," said Brown.

Senate Bill 948 has been referred to the Senate Campaign and Election
Oversight Committee for consideration.

Remarks from CBS Sunday Morning - Ben Stein

I Only hope we find GOD again before it is too late ! !

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday  Morning  Commentary.

My confession:

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish.  And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees.  I don't feel threatened.  I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are, Christmas trees.

It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me.  I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto.  In fact, I kind of like it
.  It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in   Malibu  .  If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians.  I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period.  I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country.  I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God as we understand Him?  I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too.  But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different:  This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?' (regarding Hurricane Katrina)..  Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response.  She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives.  And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out.  How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?'

In light of recent events.... Terrorists attack, school shootings, etc.  I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.  Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school.  The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself.  And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide).  We said an expert should know what he's talking about.  And we said okay.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out.  I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.  Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.  Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.  Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit.

If not, then just discard it. .. No one will know you did.  But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards,  Honestly and respectfully,

Ben Stein
