Constitutional crisis demands a States Council investigation

Resolution opposes convention to debate 'our most precious rights'

The state of Wyoming has adopted a resolution to inform Washington bureaucrats and bureaucracies of its opposition to any plans to hold a Constitutional Convention that would recommend changes or alterations to the nation's founding document.

House Enrolled Joint Resolution 3 was signed recently by Democratic Gov. Dave Freudenthal.

The Wyoming Family Coalition said the measure, sponsored by state Rep. Bob Brechtel, R-Casper, is intended to announce the state's opposition to "any attempts to dismantle the United States Constitution which has generally served the country well for nearly 230 years." ...

...

"A Constitutional Convention would open a Pandora's Box in this country and would allow debate on our most precious rights," said the WFC's chairman, John Birbari of Lander.

"These rights come from God and are guaranteed by the lawful U.S. Constitution, they include our rights of free speech, the right to assemble, the right to practice the religion of our choice, the right to keep and bear arms and many others," he said.

"Given the current climate in Washington, the people of Wyoming do not want these rights or any of the basic provisions of the Constitution threatened by a Constitutional Convention."

The bill passed both houses with overwhelming majorities and was signed into law by the governor March 11.

"It takes 34 for states calling for a Constitutional Convention in order to have one," Birbari said. "Until this action by our legislature, 32 states had issued the call including Wyoming. Now, it's down to 31." ...

My comment:

As the far left continues to overrun our constitution, we need a summit on what is now being done unconstitutionally and fix it. That in of itself does not mandate for a Convention of change, but one of policing what we have. If the States would put together a council to bring out the truth of the tyranny going on, it could help set the table for a healthy convention down the road and not too far from the grassroots firestorm that is brewing.

Dear FairTax supporter,

I wanted to drop you a note--in the middle of some very hectic days--to fill you in on a few exciting things that are happening with our national campaign right now. This is a time of growth and new excitement about the FairTax that is helping us build the essential grassroots base.

We've appeared on more than 700 radio talk shows in the last 28 months! These shows are bringing more and more people to the FairTax.org web site and many new supporters are joining our cause! Here are a few other items I think you will find of interest:

The New FairTax Ad
Here's a sneak peek at our Investor's Business Daily (IBD) ad running in Monday's edition of the paper. We've used humor to get across a serious message to a large national audience. Our two past ads in IBD and our ads in the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune and smaller papers were big hits causing a real spike in both membership recruitment and web visits.

The Rallies
We are up to our necks now in the final details of our two upcoming FairTax rallies. The rallies will be exciting and a lot of fun and will see national figures like Mike Huckabee and Neal Boortz as well as prominent local FairTaxers. Sean Hannity's show will live broadcast an interview from our South Carolina rally, April 15th.
RSVP for Jacksonville, FL Rally on April 11th
RSVP for Columbia, SC Rally on April 15th

Web streaming the "Save the Nation" South Carolina Rally
We will be showing the very best FairTax YouTube videos at each rally and the South Carolina rally will be featured on a special web streaming link at FairTax.org. Please be sure to sign up for access now if you have not already.

The FairTax Petition
We are closing in on 100,000 petition signatures as I write this message (Sign the petition now if you have not already). The petition will be delivered to the White House on or shortly after April 15th. Together with our outstanding response to Mr. Obama's website, the "Reinvent the RNC" web site and "ChangeDC" we are making our presence known.

On Capitol Hill
The recent "Special Order" on the floor of the House of Representatives, was hosted by Rep. Steve King of Iowa and featured an hour of talk about the FairTax. It was seen across the nation and created a lot of helpful and healthy excitement. We are still getting resistance from DC tax reform groups--of all people--as well as Members of Congress but that resistance will increasingly evaporate as we continue to grow stronger.

Growing Supporter Base
Right now, we are adding from 300 to 600 new supporters a day. This is the time to reach out to everyone you know and tell them that the FairTax is non-partisan, can save the economy and help every taxpayer. Here is an issue that both Democrats and Republicans can agree on!

Here at HQ
After April 15th, our biggest push will be turning FairTaxers out to Town Hall meetings hosted by elected officials. It is high time they hear, face-to-face from hometown constituents on the FairTax. This can make a big difference in winning co-sponsors to our legislation.

National Voices
Finally, we've been talking a lot recently with "Joe the Plumber" who is launching a national push for the FairTax. Joe represents the voice of the average man in desiring a better tax system and his help is most welcome. Watch Joe talk about the FairTax on HBO tonight on "Real Time with Bill Maher" and on Fox Sunday night on "Geraldo At Large." He'll be on stage in Lansing, Michigan and outside Atlanta at a Tea Party rallies April 15th talking about the FairTax. You go Joe!

We've also been talking a lot with Tea Party national leaders. The Tea Parties are a true grassroots outpouring of discontent with government spending and we are the best answer for the nation. They are organizing around the problem and we are organizing around the solution. Our two campaigns belong together. Neal Boortz and Mike Huckabee continue to carry our message to a national audience and we are, of course, very grateful.

I hope to see many of you at the upcoming rallies. Keep the faith--and keep up the good work!

Sincerely,

Ken Hoagland

Third state to allow same-sex marriages=Time for a Constitutional Convention

If ever there is a time for a Constitutional Convention called by the States, it is now.

1. Sanctity of Marriage
2. Sanctity of Life
3. repeal of the 16th Amendment
4. Repeal of the 17th Amendment
5. Separation of the Federal State from Social programs by establishing a Board of Governors to administer as voluntary by each State.

Unanimous ruling: Iowa marriage no longer limited to one man, one woman

REGISTER STAFF REPORTS • April 3, 2009

The Iowa Supreme Court this morning upheld a Polk County judge's 2007 ruling that marriage should not be limited to one man and one woman.

Third state to allow same-sex marriages

Today's decision makes Iowa the first Midwestern state, and the third in the country, to allow same-sex marriages. Lambda Legal, a gay rights group, financed the court battle and represented six couples who challenged Iowa's 10-year-old ban on gay marriage.

Supreme Court Justice Mark Cady, who wrote the unanimous decision, at one point invoked the court's first-ever decision, in 1839, which struck down slavery laws 17 years before the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the right of a slave owner to treat a person as property.

Iowa's gay marriage ban "is unconstitutional, because the county has been unable to identify a constitutionally adequate justification for excluding plaintiffs from the institution of civil marriage," Cady wrote in the 69-page opinion that seemed to dismiss the concept of civil unions as an option for gay couples.

"A new distinction based on sexual orientation would be equally suspect and difficult to square with the fundamental principles of equal protection embodied in our constitution," Cady wrote.

The ruling, however, also addressed what it called the "religious undercurrent propelling the same-sex marriage debate," and said judges must remain outside the fray.

Some Iowa religions are strongly opposed to same-sex marriages, the justices noted, while some support the notion.

"Our constitution does not permit any branch of government to resolve these types of religious debates and entrusts to courts the task of ensuring that government avoids them," the opinion says.

The ruling explicitly does not affect "the freedom of a religious organization to define marriage it solemnizes as unions between a man and a woman," the justices stressed.

Goodbye to Farmers Markets, Organic Farming Unless We STOP This!

Say goodbye to farmers markets, CSAs, and roadside stands unless we STOP HR 875, HR 814, SR 425 and SOON, HR 759 or

The above so called "food safety" bills in Congress were written by the nation-less corporations such as; Monsanto, Cargill, Tysons, ADM, etc. These bills are all associated with the opposite of food safety. What is this all about then?

- By Linn Cohen-Cole - March 3, 2009

In the simplest terms, organic food and a rebirth of farming were winning. Not in absolute numbers but in a deep and growing shift by the public toward understanding the connection between their food and their health, between good food and true social pleasures, between their own involvement in food and the improvement in their lives in general, between local food and a burgeoning local economy.

Slow Food was right - limit your food to what comes from your region and from real farmers, and slow down to cook it and linger over it with friends and family, and the world begins to change for the better.

And as we face an unprecedented economic crisis, and it is hard to be sure what has value, one thing that always does is food. Which is why the corporations are after absolute control over it. But what obstacles to a complete lock on food do they face? All the people in this country who are "banking" on organic farming and urban gardens and most of all, everyone's deepening pleasure in and increasing involvement with everything about food.

Farmers markets. Local farmers. Real milk. Fresh eggs. Vegetable stands.

Those are things we not only all want, but things we are actively getting involved in, and things we very much need. And where they are truly good, they are growing <http://hartkeisonline.com/2009/02/12/fda-response-to-raw-milk-symposium-in-toronto-a-symposium-of-their-own/>

<http://hartkeisonline.com/2009/02/12/fda-response-to-raw-milk-symposium-in-toronto-a-symposium-of-their-own/> The international financial corporations which have wreaked havoc around the world with astounding nonsensical "solutions" that are destructive of everyone but them, are brothers to the international agribusiness giants (Monsanto, Cargill, Tysons, ADM, etc.) which are just as aggressively after their own form of "taking." Just seeds, animals, water, land.

And freedom.

Because human beings are by in large good and by in large incredibly resilient and clever, and left to their own devices - that is, free - they would handle this gargantuan financial stupidity the corporations brought us with NAFTA, CAFTA, GATT and all other globalized schemes (which they hope to eventually top off with CODEX). How? By being productive in real ways and locally. And farming is the solid ground under that. Farmers produce something of real value (something we used to take for granted), and from that base, businesses grow up. Local markets, local food processors, local seed companies, local tool and supply companies, local stores ... and an economy based on reality and something truly good for us, too, begins to grow.

So, look again at what has been exciting us - Farmers markets. Local farmers. Real milk. Fresh eggs. Vegetable stands. - and realize that they are not only wonderfully healthy but fun and naturally community building. And more, they are a real economy and deeply democratic - and just at a time we need something that works economically, that supports our democratic rebirth, and that protects food itself and our easy access to it.

And it is all those things that threaten the corporations... which is why we now have these massive "fake food safety" bills in Congress. Everything is going under thanks to these fools, and they wish to be there like vultures to make sure that every drop of blood that can be sucked out of our resources and us, is theirs. To wit, they must get rid of such good and innocent things and yet truly powerful things as:

Farmers markets. Local farmers. Real milk. Fresh eggs. Vegetable stands. And how will those who contaminate our country's food with pesticides, hormones, antibiotics and more, do that? Why, by setting standards for "food safety" that are so grotesquely and inappropriately and even cruelly applied to a local, independent farmers and ranchers that there is no way they can manage. Imagine your being faced with a 100 page IRS form and facing a million dollar a day penalty for screwing up. That would be in the ball park of the impossible complexity mixed with threat facing our farmers. Imagine having the government and corporations deciding every single thing you can do and must do in your kitchen and backing that up with the threat of 10 years in prison for screwing up - though you have never made anyone sick, and those corporations have. Imagine being surveilled 24 hours a day by GPS tracking devices that feed into ... a corporate data bank, one they have now moved out of the country so no one here can have legal access to see what is in it.

Imagine the devil himself - or a whole boardrooms of them, dressed in suits - defining the only safe and healthy food in this country as dangerous and burdening hard working farmers with more work then anyone could bear, while his own, their own, food is so dangerous at this point that in the last 10 years alone, diabetes has gone up 90% <http://www.healthfreedom.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=582&Itemid=> And how did they get this far with such a scheme to apply insane industrial standards to every farm in the country? Through fear of diseases and of outbreaks of food borne illnesses, both of which they cause themselves.

How it works: Tyson helps Bill Clinton get into office. Bill Clinton immediately and significantly lowers contamination standards for poultry as a thank you. And it is such contaminated waste from transnational poultry factories which is now implicated as the source of bird flu. <http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=viewArticle&code=ENG20051127&articleId=1333> - Then fortunes on made on that fear. And then poultry industry uses the crisis they created to push out small farmers <http://www.ens-newswire.com/ens/feb2006/2006-02-27-01.asp> and take greater control than ever. Their mantra? Biodiversity not only be damned but be eliminated. And get rid of those damn farmers who protect it while we're at it.

The bills would require such a burdensome complexity of rules, inspections, licensing, fees, and penalties for each farmer who wishes to sell locally - a fruit stand, at a farmers market - no one could manage it <http://www.opednews.com/articles/Farming--Why-Obama-s-gove-by-Linn-Cohen-Cole-090125-421.html> . And THAT is the point. The whole dirty tricks point. The whole "be in tight control of everything needed for survival because it'll be worth a fortune" point.

So, if you like farmers markets, local farmers, fresh milk, fresh eggs, vegetables stands, and freedom, let your friends know that it's all on the line right now with those "fake food safety" bills brought to us with well-planned evil and more of it to come, by Monsanto, Cargill, Tysons, ADM, etc.

Slow Food reminds us of just where we need to be (and notice how much would help any local economy):

Forming and sustaining seed banks <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seed_bank> to preserve heirloom varieties <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heirloom_plant> in cooperation with local food systems; Developing an " Ark of Taste <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ark_of_Taste> " for each ecoregion <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecoregion> , where local culinary traditions and foods are celebrated; Preserving and promoting local and traditional food products, along with their lore and preparation; Organizing small-scale processing (including facilities for slaughtering and short run products); Organizing celebrations of local cuisine within regions (for example, the Feast of Fields <http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Feast_of_Fields&action=edit&redlink=1> held in some cities in Canada <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada> ); Promoting " taste education <http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Taste_education&action=edit&redlink=1> ;" Educating consumers about the risks of fast food <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fast_food> ; Educating citizens about the drawbacks of commercial agribusiness <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agribusiness> and factory farms <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Factory_farm> ; Educating citizens about the risks of monoculture <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monoculture> and reliance on too few genomes <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genome> or varieties; Developing various political programs to preserve family farms <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_farm> ; Lobbying for the inclusion of organic farming <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organic_farm> concerns within agricultural policy <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agricultural_policy> ; Lobbying against government funding of genetic engineering <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_engineering> ; Lobbying against the use of pesticides <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pesticide> ; Teaching gardening <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gardening> skills to students <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Student> and prisoners <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prison> ; Encouraging ethical buying <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moral_purchasing> in local marketplaces.

To truly make a difference; we recommend a direct person to person contact, such as phone calls, faxing and paying personal visit to their offices and see how they are ruining our lives. - We need to stop these bills first, or we are left with no money from the financial bail-out and no food from the food steal-out.

Ten Ways You Can Help HuckPac Today

Dear Michigan Huckpack members,

The new website has launched. It is a fantastic way to be kept in the loop, blog, or participate in live chat. Our goal is to build a nationwide grassroots army of volunteers. There are at least

TEN WAYS TO GET STARTED TODAY

1. Email and invite your friends to join Team Huck. You can send emails by clicking on the "Invite Friends" link on your Dashboard. Or just email them a link to www.teamhuck.com. To get credit though for the friends you invite, use the link on your Team Huck Dashboard.

2. Create an event. Do you know of an upcoming Tea Party protest? Or an upcoming local GOP meeting? Or are you interested in meeting with other Republicans locally to discuss politics? You can now create an event and invite your friends to participate.

3. Share your story. On April 15th, Huck PAC is hosting a National Volunteer Day – 24 hours set aside for Volunteers -- to share why they are joining our team and what issues matter most to them. In the past Huck PAC has hosted a Vertical Day, to give candidates a chance to promote their campaigns, National Volunteer Day is a day to promote our Volunteers.

4. If you are a blogger, and don't see your blog listed on your state's blogroll, we encourage you to submit your blog. We then ask that you blog about Team Huck and add one of our banners to your blog.

5. Get Involved On Facebook, Eventful and Twitter.

Facebook: Each state has its own Facebook group listed on your headquarters page and Mike Huckabee's Facebook profile is listed on the bottom of the website. We encourage you to join our state group and become a supporter of Mike Huckabee. The link to this is http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=47476999541&ref=ts. Or simpler yet, sign in to your Facebook account, and search for Huckpac Michigan.

Eventful is a tool we are using to promote Mike Huckabee events nationwide. Add yourself today to Eventful and "Demand" that Mike Huckabee come to your town.

Twitter is a great way to communicate on the run. Mike Huckabee's twitter account has over 8,000 fans and is growing daily and it is something he uses each day to share news.

6. Make a contribution in support of Team Huck. Whether you contribute $5, $10, $25 or even $50 you will be helping Team Huck build a nationwide grassroots movement to fight for our ideas and the candidates that support them.

7. Visit our Downloads section (you can find a link to it in the right column under Team Huck Resources) and choose one of our promotional fliers to print off. Then choose five friends to give one to or find a message board in your dorm, supermarket or local coffee shop and post one there.

8. Take some time to click on other states on our Team Huck HQ map. Learn about the candidates we are supporting and the hard work our volunteers are doing in every state. If you know friends living in one of those states invite them to join as well.

9. Leave a comment on your state blog and ask either myself juliefoster@huckpacvolunteer.com or debramantey@huckpacvolunteer.com and ask them what else you can do to help. We are building communities in every state and to succeed we need you to take an active role on the ground and online. Would yuou consider being a community leader?

10. Write the President, and contact your representatives. If we are vigilant enough they will listen. If they have turned a deaf ear, they need to be turned out of Congress. Huckpac is always looking for quality candidates to support. If you have suggestions, please send them on to huckpac.com.

On a personal note, if you haven't seen the Tomas Paine video I loved this video by "Thomas Paine" (even though I don't believe in all his solutions): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeYscnFpEyA. It has me fired up for the tea parties on April 15th. To find a location near you, please visit http://www.reteaparty.com/2009/01/americas-tea-party/. Rumor has it Joe the Plumber is going to be in Lansing.

Lastly, I love feedback

God Bless you!

If GOP can't breakout of being the right wing party of big government - Newt

The former Republican Speaker discussed 2012 during a recent speech at a Missouri college.

(CNN) — Former House speaker Newt Gingrich is warning of a third party mutiny in 2012 if Republicans don't figure out a way to shape up.

"If the Republicans can't break out of being the right wing party of big government, then I think you would see a third party movement in 2012," Gingrich said Tuesday. The speech, to a group of students at the College of the Ozarks in Missouri, was recorded by Springfield TV station KY3.

But Gingrich, bemoaning President Barack Obama's "monstrosity of a budget," acknowledged that Republicans are partially to blame for the escalation in federal spending.

"Remember, everything Obama's doing, Bush started last year," he said. "If you're going to talk about big spending, the mistakes of the Bush administration last year are fully as bad as the mistakes of Obama's first two, three months."

Gingrich told the students that the current governmental system "is so sick, so out of touch and so arrogant that you're going to have a nationwide rebellion at the polls of people in both parties who are just fed up."...

***

My comment:

Newt, you have said it well here, that the GOP is in clear crisis and if it emerges as anything close to as was, the only small remainder will be the big government left as a hollow shell in a collapsing tent.

The Republican budget put out to counter the Democrats in April of 2009 is nearly as large as the insane 10 trillion dollar deficit of Obama over the ten years. That is not leaving big government behind, it is laying a trick play to make everyone think it is so. Intentional or not, that is what it is. Is it better, no. It is just a slower decent into Central Federalism or internationalism.

The web of international policy has sunk deep roots into our political character and must be changed too, to indicate all aspects of the Constitution in all treaties, period.

When time in America brings up this following thought, you know that the Crisis Americans are facing with respect to the despotism in Washington of both parties is at a tipping point:

"The tyranny of federal power can be checked by the fifty State legislatures, who are the arbiter and amender of the constitution and the Founding Fathers in their wisdom of despotism, put into place two approaches to the Constitution's amendment process. One is initiated by the Congress and the other, a call by 2/3 of the States for a constitutional Convention and a vote of 3/4 of the States support for an amendment to be agreed to and made Law. It has nothing to do with Washington, the latter way and thus it is the last stand against this tyranny of the Federal Government. Better still is the escrowing of all funding to the federal government less military defense." - R. George Dunn

Americans of all parties are finding common ground in unifying against the Big Government of Washington and those who are representing these people had better get their priorities in order and start bringing Constitutionality back to Washington. It is our prosperity being wasted and plundered, for future generations to come. Such enslavement will not be tolerated, nor will it be allowed to destroy our Constitution.

Cease & Desist Shadow of Washington DC!!!
