Only a few days remain until a national prayer meeting assembles in our nation's capital on May 1, from sunrise until 2:00 PM ET. Leaders of all houses of worship are joining together at the Lincoln Memorial to lead our country in a collective 'mayday' call for the soul of our nation. It will be a time to gather and humble ourselves to pray, seek the face of God, and turn from our wicked ways, both individually and as a nation.
The May Day committee is asking thousands of people to get involved in the highly anticipated event by calling (405) 796-PRAY or (405) 796-7729. Attendees may register for May Day at MayDay2010.org. The event will be broadcast live on GOD TV and can be viewed on DIRECTV channel 365 or online at www.god.tv/live and over VOD at www.god.tv/video.

Mathew Staver, Founder of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law, commented: "The American Revolution was preceded by the Great Awakening. When the Constitutional Convention was about to disintegrate, the founders convened a prayer meeting, and a few weeks later the Constitution was born. Throughout our history, beginning with George Washington, our Presidents have called upon America to pray. America is a great nation because it has honored God. Today, we are calling upon all Americans to pray for our country in these uncertain times."
