Return to God
by James Robison

For many months I have been expressing deep concern for the spiritual condition of both the church and our nation. I believe with all my heart we are headed in the wrong direction. The only hope for a return to sanity, stability and security is for the church to awaken and truly pierce the darkness with God's love and God's truth. There is no other way to see the tide turned.

FairTax Leader Rob Woodall Needs Our Help in Election for Congress.

FairTax Political Action, Neal Boortz, FairTax Bill Author Congressman John Linder All Campaign Hard for

FairTax Champion Rob Woodall

In a hard fought Republican Primary last Tuesday in Georgia, FairTax Leader Rob Woodall finished first handily winning nearly 40% of the vote in a seven way election with tough, well known and well funded opponents.

The runoff will take place August 10th.  The District is very safely Republican so we can be certain that if he wins the runoff Rob will be the next Congressman.

Rob Woodall is known as The FairTax Republican Candidate for Congress.  Why? He has been Ten years Chief of Staff to the author of the FairTax Bill in Congress,   Congressman John Linder.  Rob was the Co-Leader of the Linder-Woodall Tax Revolt Team in the Great April 15 Tax Day Tax Revolt March for America, the biggest Tax Revolt Event in U. S. History!
And Rob was the Co-author with Radio Hall of Fame Talkmaster Neal Boortz and Congressman of the bestselling book ever on the FairTax.
The runoff election is in just two weeks, so there is no resting.  Click right here, right now to donate or volunteer to help Rob.
With the retirement of the author of the FairTax Bill in Congress, John Linder, the election of Rob to Congress is critical to make sure we have this great, knowledgeable FairTax Champion in our corner when the new Congress opens in January.
Thank you!

Federal Spending? Out of Control Massive Tax Hikes? They're Coming Answer? The FairTax

The political fortunes of Washington insiders from both parties are at risk according to recent polls (see "In the News" below). Faced with high unemployment, skyrocketing national debt and more and more talk about taking even more out of our pockets in taxes to pay for out of control spending -- including new luxury jets for a junket loving Congress The American people have had it.

As frustrated and angry as the American people are right now, few besides those in the FairTax campaign have offered a solution. Many citizens, it seems are waiting for those at the top to lead the country to a real economic recovery that helps more than those who caused the meltdown in the first place: Washington insiders and the political elite. The stage is set for a massive upheaval at the polls this November…but will the alternative be any better than the status quo?

Many Republicans say they have now remembered what their party once espoused—smaller government and fiscal restraint. Many Democrats are publicly worrying about the growing national debt which now costs 62% of the gross Domestic Product (GDP) to service. But the Washington culture of spending out of the national treasury to win election and re-election, to spend taxpayer dollars on lavish Congressional perks and to continue to sell off pieces of the corrupted tax code for profit and power seems immune to voter anger…because a viable alternative is not well enough known to be embraced by the majority of Americans.

The FairTax can save the nation's economy, restore the role of the American citizen and bring irresponsible spending to a stop through consumer pressure on elected officials. Given Washington's resistance to this desperately needed idea—or even a Congressional hearing to examine the idea fairly—it's enough to make FairTaxers want to scream.

Scream away!

Take our message of reform and renewal of the American economy to candidates who are now looking for voter support to either hold on to their jobs or replace those who now have those jobs. Let no campaign stop for any candidate of either party go unvisited by citizens wearing FairTax T-Shirts and ball caps. Take to the airwaves in calls to every local and national talk show host. Let newspaper editors around the nation hear from us and let's talk more to those outside the FairTax campaign on websites and blogs.

Tell all those who will listen or be made to listen that the FairTax will pull trillions of dollars, now offshore, into our economy and get Americans back to work. Tell them that when we take home far fatter paychecks without any federal withholding deducted we will permanently stimulate the American economy. Tell them that the FairTax eliminates Congressional corruption of the tax code and gives the "Made in America" label a fighting chance.

Tell your neighbors and your friends and colleagues. Talk to individuals, groups and organziations who frequently are looking for guest speakers. Use the FairTax TV show. Ask them to help by joining FairTax.org as well as state and local FairTax groups. Draw a circle that encompasses every American citizen, not one that excludes anyone because the FairTax is good for all.

Primary foes upset GOP favorite in race for Rep. Linder's seat
From The Hill
By Shane D'Aprile - 07/20/10 11:06 PM ET

In a surprise on Tuesday, the former chief of staff to retiring Rep. John Linder (R-Ga.) finished first in a crowded Republican primary, but it wasn't enough to avoid an August runoff.

Rob Woodall won 37 percent of the vote with radio host Jody Hice coming in second at 26 percent. State Rep. Clay Cox won't even make it into the August runoff, finishing third with 20 percent of the vote.

Cox was considered the frontrunner in the 7th District, though most observers thought a runoff was likely. Cox was a favorite of Tea Party groups in the state and had the backing of the state's GOP establishment, including Gov. Sonny Perdue and state House Speaker David Ralston.

Cox was in Washington, D.C., last week for a fundraiser at the Capitol Hill Club.

Hice, a former minister, stirred controversy earlier this week with a billboard campaign referencing President Obama. The billboards asked, "Had enough of Obama's change?" The "c" in the word change was replaced with a hammer and sickle.

Linder officially endorsed his former chief of staff Woodall in April.

Nearly 6 in 10 Lack Confidence in Obama to Make Right Decisions
From Politics Daily
Bruce Drake - Contributing Editor

Nearly 6 in 10 Americans say they have "just some" or no confidence in President Obama to make the right decisions for the country, and they give even lower marks to congressional Republicans and Democrats, according to a Washington Post/ABC News poll conducted July 7-11.

Fifty-seven percent of those polled put themselves in the "just some" or "none at all" columns as far as their trust in Obama, while 43 percent say they have a great deal or good amount of confidence in him. That's a dip since January, when 53 percent said they had little or no confidence in Obama and 47 percent said they did.

When it comes to lawmakers on Capitol Hill, 73 percent had just some or no confidence in congressional Republicans to make the right decisions for the country and, by a 67 percent to 32 percent margin, the public held the same negative view of Democrats.

Ninety percent of Americans consider the state of the economy as not so good or poor, and they disapprove of Obama's handling of the issue by 54 percent to 43 percent, with 4 percent undecided. Forty-one percent describe themselves as "strongly" disapproving of Obama's performance on the economy. In early June, Americans were split, with 50 percent approving and 49 percent disapproving.

A separate CBS News poll, conducted July 9-12, said 54 percent disapproved of Obama's handling of the economy compared to 45 percent who approved, with the number of independents who approved dropping to 35 percent. Those who approved of Obama's performance dropped five points since last month.

The Post/ABC survey said the public trusts the Democrats more than the Republicans on the economy by 42 percent to 34 percent, with 3 percent trusting both, 17 percent trusting neither and 3 percent undecided. That hasn't changed much since March, but it's a big drop for Democrats compared to February 2008, when the new Congress was getting underway and they were trusted more than Republicans on the economy by a margin of 52 percent to 33 percent..

Looking ahead to the midterm elections, the poll's generic congressional ballot has Republicans ahead of Democrats by 47 percent to 46 percent when it comes to which candidate registered voters would choose. The margin of error is 3.5 points. In early June, Democrats led by 47 percent to 44 percent.

Around the Nation

The Grass Roots Freedom Ride for FairTax traveled through desert, desert and more desert this week, made worse by the heat wave that hit Arizona, with highway temperatures reaching 118 degrees! Traveling from Phoenix to the Hoover Dam after many miles on Historic Route 66 (great photos!), we encountered a traffic jam at this historic site in 114 degree heat - a dangerous situation for someone exposed to the elements. Please remember to be kind to bikers when the weather isn't! We extend a special thanks to David Harvey in Houston who lent Mike a cooling vest for this intense part of the journey.

From Hoover Dam, we traveled to Las Vegas, where we met up with a lively group of FairTax supporters at Arlen Ness Motorcycles, a shop with an iconic owner in the motorcycle world.  Robert Sweeney, a reporter for QuickThrottleMagazine, wrote up an article to be published next month. A representative from Nevada SonsofLibertyRiders and a photographer from the magazine joined us for another desert ride to Nipton, CA at the Whistlestop Oasis Cafe from the late 1800's. At the next stop in Pasadena, Tea Party Patriots met us at the old City Hall, where we challenged them to take a position on Tax Reform. Read about the event in the Pasadena Star News. We're finding many in the tea party movement are unaware of the FairTax.

Riding out of the Los Angeles area on the 210 Highway, we got more "thumbs up" from passers-by than normal.  California is ready for real tax reform and FairTax. Traveling this land of extremes, by day's end we were in 57 degree weather on the central coast - half the temperature we found a few days earlier when we entered the state.  Today, we leave Petaluma CA, and the FairTax Bike has 11,000+ miles for FairTax since June 2nd!

Remember to guess where the FairTax Bike is and how many miles the Grass Roots Freedom Ride has traveled. Your winning guess gets you $200 in FairTax supplies, delivered to you! Go to the "Where is the FairTax Bike" contest!  You can also support the FairTax through the FairTax Bike, where Americans are meeting up to bring government back to the people! Check out all the photos at Facebook Grass Roots Freedom Ride Photos as well.

Find the current Route at http://www.grassrootsfreedomride.com/2010overview, or join the SOLR Group for updates and communication about the rides and events.  Your involvement is needed and appreciated!  We'll see you there!  Ride Safe!

Did You Know?
How does the income tax affect our economy?

How does dragging an anchor affect the speed of a ship? Our entire economy is not dependent on the income tax. Instead, our economy is held back by the income tax. There was no income tax for the first 124 years of our history -- that's more than half the time we have existed as a nation. A study by the Government Accountability Office estimated that the federal tax system imposed efficiency costs on the U.S. economy of two to five percent of GDP. Under the FairTax, within ten years average Americans will be at least 10 percent and probably 15 percent better off than they would be under the current system. That translates to an increase of $3,000 to $4,500 per household, per year.
