Yes and bankers get bail outs and then won't give anyone especially Auto Workers a loan to buy the cars they build. Or a LOAN to GM, with thier bail out money even, for GM  to stay in business through the worst economic time since the Depression. And GM has made the banks rich with all the car loans they have given out to people in the good times, that have long since been paid off over the past 100 years.

The Great Falling Away of the Church=Few Christians have Biblical Worldview

Chuck Baldwin has stated to what the Bible calls the great falling away of the Faithful from the Church.  Only 19% of Christians are believers!

Few Christians Have Biblical Worldview
By Chuck Baldwin
March 31, 2009
This column is archived at
http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2009/cbarchive_20090331.html

The prolific pollster George Barna just released another startling survey:
among America's professing "born-again" Christians, only 19% possess a
Biblical worldview. That's right. Some 80% of professing Christians do not
possess a Biblical worldview.

And it's not as if Barna's survey questions were all that difficult. Barna's
criteria for determining a person's Biblical worldview were the following:

*Believing that absolute moral truth exists;

*Believing that the Bible is totally accurate in all of the principles it
teaches;

*Believing that Satan is considered to be a real being or force, not merely
symbolic;

*Believing that a person cannot earn their way into Heaven by trying to be
good or do good works;

*Believing that God is the all-knowing, all-powerful creator of the world
who still rules the universe today.

In the research, anyone who held all of those beliefs was said to have a
Biblical worldview. And again, even among professing "born-again"
Christians, only 19% were shown to have a Biblical worldview.

See Barna's research at:

http://www.barna.org/barna-update/article/21-transformation/252-barna-survey-examines-changes-in-worldview-among-christians-over-the-past-13-years

This survey helps explain a bunch!

How in the name of common sense can Christians expect to be the "salt" and
"light" to a lost and dying world when the vast majority of believers do not
even possess a basic Biblical foundation?

Of course, many mainline Protestant denominations lost their allegiance to
Biblical truth decades ago. And now it seems that a majority of evangelical
churches are consumed with the politically correct doctrines of Prosperity
Theology and Entertainment Evangelism. Old-fashioned Bible Christianity has
been replaced with avant-garde movements such as the Emerging Church,
Purpose Driven Church, Seeker-Sensitive Church, User-Friendly Church,
Meta-Church, ad infinitum, ad nauseam.

The result of this departure from Biblical Christianity is that some 80% of
professing Christians today do not hold a Biblical worldview and are,
therefore, impotent at being the "salt" and "light" that our Lord requires.

Let's face it: without a Biblical worldview, these modern "born-again"
evangelicals are walking around with pagan, Christless worldviews. Instead
of the Bible, socialist talking heads, globalist media moguls, hedonistic
entertainers, political hacks, and humanistic academicians are the ones to
most influence their opinions, philosophies, and mindsets.

And just whose fault is it that our churches have become so riddled with
infidelity and apostasy? The preachers, obviously.

Instead of standing up on their own hind legs and proclaiming, "Thus saith
the Lord," without fear or favor, they are falling all over themselves
trying to emulate Joel Osteen, Rick Warren, and Bill Hybels. Instead of
preaching with the fear of God in their hearts, they preach with the fear of
the I.R.S. and the G.O.P. in their hearts. Or, worse than that, they "tiptoe
through the tulips" for fear of their own church members.

I will say it one more time, if America's preachers would stand up in their
pulpits every Sunday and not be afraid to preach the truth (and courageously
relate it to America's everyday problems and challenges including our
political problems and challenges), the ship of state could be turned around
overnight! As the pulpits go, so goes the nation. And right now, the pulpits
of America are leading our country over the cliff!

It is for this very reason that, a few years ago, I began a nationwide
campaign to discover the modern "Black Regiment" pastors and churches in
America. As a result of this effort, we have already identified scores of
pastors and churches across America that have gladly chosen to identify
themselves as being part of America's "Black Regiment."

See the Black Regiment web page here:

http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/blackregiment.php

If you find a Black Regiment pastor in your area, by all means, join with
and support both him and his congregation. How can pastors be expected to
courageously proclaim the truth unless people who appreciate the truth
support them with both their attendance and offerings?

It is also for this reason that I am now live-streaming my Sunday morning
messages on the Internet. We now have hundreds of thirsty souls watching us
every Sunday morning. For the most part, these are people who have tried
desperately to find courageous, independent-minded patriot-pastors in their
communities, but have failed to do so. Our live-streamed broadcast gives
them an online home where truth is preached. If you want to join them, use
this url on Sunday at approximately 10:30 a.m. (Central Daylight Time):

http://crossroadbaptist.net/live.html

George Barna's research is tremendously revealing--and disconcerting. It is
a sad day when many unbelievers seem to have more character and conviction
about the foundational principles of constitutional government, liberty, and
independence than do professing Christians. But then again, if Christians
cannot be trusted to understand and revere the Sacred Text, how can they
understand and revere the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution,
and Bill of Rights?

Don't Merge Big Auto (if it is being considered)

Don't Merge Big Auto
By Michael Beitler
Published 03/31/09
http://www.campaignforliberty.com/article.php?view=37

A listener of my "Free Markets" radio show suggested that the government should use taxpayer funds to merge the big-three auto companies under Ford (apparently the strongest of the three) to restore all three to health. There are moral, economic, and historical reasons why not to do that.

Moral

You create a moral hazard when you reward bad behavior. The behavioral psychologists tell us, "Whatever behavior you reward, you get more of." We need to allow failure. Failure has painful consequences, but failure is a great teacher. As I've said in my articles about the banking industry bailout, rewarding bad behavior with taxpayer money is never a good idea. Giving taxpayer money to people who have failed is a reward.

Economic

There are multiple economic issues here. First, if the government "encourages" a strong company to take on the problems of two failing companies, it is most likely that all three will fail. Keep in mind the word "encourage" is in quotes because government is coercive by nature.

Second, it is important to put aside all the emotionally charged rhetoric about bankruptcy. If a company, such as GM, goes bankrupt the physical assets do not go away. Those assets will be sold to auto makers that know how to a run an auto manufacturing business at a profit in the United States (Toyota and Honda are two obvious examples).

The assets of the bankrupt company may be sold at only 30 or 40 cents on the dollar, wiping out the stockholders, but those assets will be quickly put back into productive use. Real jobs will be created, replacing the "fantasy jobs" that are currently supported by American taxpayers.

Third, merging companies with problems doesn't make the underlying problems go away. The underlying problems at the big-three auto makers must be dealt with before it's possible to return to financial health. Labor-management hostilities, out-of-control wage and retirement costs, customer dissatisfaction, bloated bureaucracy, etc., etc., are real problems which must be solved. Taxpayer support can prolong but not solve these problems.

Historical

Americans are failing to learn from history, even recent history. The British auto industry got into trouble in the 1960s. Beginning in the late '60s the British government began intervening with mergers, regulation, and taxpayer money. Not surprisingly, things got worse. Even Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher refused to cut off taxpayer support in the 1980s.

In 2005, the British government closed down what remained of the generation-long government-sponsored fiasco, but not before the British taxpayers had spent a fortune on their too-big-to-fail auto industry.

You might ask, "But didn't Britain benefit from a generation-long intervention into the auto industry?" No. Britain's long-term policy of supporting its auto industry with taxpayer money weakened the country by misallocating valuable resources. Resources spent on the auto industry could have been spent in industries with viable business models.

Too Big To Fail

Nothing is too big to fail. GM has already failed. GM has lost billions of dollars, and continues to lose millions of dollars every day. Failing or not failing isn't the question. GM has failed.

"What should be done with this failure?" is the question. We should choose the free-market, capitalist, reality-based solution: If a company fails, it should be liquidated in an orderly bankruptcy proceeding; the assets should be purchased by a company that can put the assets to productive use. Toyota, Honda, and other manufacturers can put GM assets to productive use. Let's create real jobs in America and put an end to taxpayer-supported "fantasy jobs."

This is the best solution for GM, Chrysler, Ford, or any other company that fails.

Tax Day Tea Party Helpful hints

Tax Day Tea Party

How-to from the Orlando Moms

Posted: 30 Mar 2009 07:00 PM PDT

Helpful tips for a successful event: Great ideas from the folks who organized the highly successful event in Orlando last week.

I love their music idea and this quote, "We chose not to have politicians speak at our event because it was our opinion that politicians have unlimited forums to make their platform known, this is a day for them to listen and for the people to be heard."

A potpourri of Tea Party ideas

Posted: 30 Mar 2009 06:52 PM PDT

In no particular order, I've been emailed these interesting and thought-provoking Tea Party suggestions:

  • Organize a clean-up crew and have them in place to keep trash picked up during and after the event.  The person who sent this idea said you don't want to leave your event site looking like DC after the inauguration.

  • Keep signs "credible and dignified".  This person goes on to say, "I have not been to a Tea Party yet but I plan to attend one on the 15.  Ours is a very liberal town and I have no doubt that our Tea Party will be attended by some hardcore liberals, looking to criticize and some independents who are on the fence and can be convinced to continue to protest with us.  These are the people we want to impress because those of us who are already mad as hell don't need to be convinced that America is being destroyed. I feel that mentioning the words conservative, republican or any other partisan party in the material relating to this movement is detrimental to the cause.  I think that demeaning pictures and words about any particular individual or political party defeats our purpose and our credibility.  THIS IS NOT ABOUT BEING A DEMOCRAT OR A REPUBLICAN - IT IS ABOUT BEING AN AMERICAN."
  • Might I suggest that instead of sending teabags, we encourage everyone to fax or/and mail photos of themselves holding the signs they are planning on carrying to the partys to their state senators and congressmen?  For a fax, a first page saying "Revolution is Brewing" with the date and time of the local tea party you will be attending, and for the second page the photo of you and your sign and the words "I am watching you.  I am fed up.  And I VOTE!"
  • "People, this is an exercise in networking….you have got to get you name on the web as organizers….how?  Craigslist…blogs….penny paper ads…I recently got an invite from a local talk radio…spent 20 minutes on there talking about the movement !  Sweet stuff.  You need to find people you can trust.  People that see eye to eye with you…that begins the networking…if you ask me you should have no problem finding people like yourself."
  • Provide a banner and markers at your Tea Party and ask everyone who attends to sign it as a memento of the event.  This was done at our local Tea Party at the end of February and people waited in line an hour to sign it.  I think the organizer mailed it to the White House.
  • Put a button on your website that website visitors can click if they plan to attend a Tea Party.
  • We need to have a coordinated effort to record/tape these tea-parties and also to make a firm count of all who participate. Then we need to take these videos and counts, send them to all 536 members of congress and the president, the media (most probably won't report it anyway) and let them know where we all stand.
  • I am addressing my own city next Tues. to ask them to NOT take the funds….and I will be letting all my Tea Party Revolutionaries know so they can show up in support…I am asking them not to betray their integrity, or the residents of this city, by bankrupting America.
  • If the same Republicans and Democrats fail to fix America's financial policies in 2009, and they are re-elected in 2010, where is their incentive to change? When do we stop accepting excuses, and how do we demonstrate to Washinton D.C. that we mean business? What are our peaceful options for cutting off the supply of political air to Washington?
  • Ask someone to donate copies of Mark Levin's new book, "Liberty and Tyranny" to your Tea Party so you can give away a free copy to the first 10 or 25 people who arrive, or have people write their names on strips of paper and draw out 25–the first 25 names get a free copy of the book.

Please report permit issues!

Posted: 30 Mar 2009 06:16 PM PDT

Over the last few days, we are hearing from a number of local Tea Party organizers that local government officials are acting to deny them permits.

I leave it up to attorneys to decide whether government officials have the right to deny you your constitutional rights to peacefully assemble by imposing burdensome regulations on that right, and further denying that you have jumped through enough hoops to satisfy any burdensome requirements. (What happened to "hope and change"?)

I've started a page on Tea Party permit issues.

If you're a local organizer and you've experienced any difficulties in the permit process, please record what happened here.

If you're an attorney and you'd be willing to help local groups by making a friendly call or two to stubborn or ill-informed local government officials who are denying permits to local Tea Parties to peacefully assembly, please contact us asap at: info@taxdayteaparty.com

P.S.: Why you must insist on your right to peacefully assemble.

Florida Gov Shuts Down Tea Party

Posted: 30 Mar 2009 09:10 AM PDT

Digg!

Want to protest your government by going to a Tea Party event? DENIED!

Remember this report from our nation's history?

CNN (Continental News Network) Boston, 1773: The city of Boston canceled a proposed protest over tea taxes today, citing the fear that too many people dressed as Indians would be gathered near the wharves. Organizers expressed sadness over the cancellation, but meekly returned to their homes fearful of upsetting the officers of the Crown. Taxmen breathed a sigh of relief as the tar and feathers were put away not to be used this day.

You don't remember that pre-revolutionary history? I should say you shouldn't, because it didn't happen. But flash forward a few hundred years and you'll find it is happening today in Cape Coral, Florida where city officials canceled a tax day tea party gathering because they "feel too many people could show-up."

That's right, folks, the God-given, long-held American right to assemble and protest the actions of our government has been canceled due to too much popularity of the protest.

And what does it come down to? Money. You see, the city officials want an insurance policy taken out so that organizers can cover any loss that might occur as a result of the rally. And those insurance policies cost hundreds of dollars.

The tea party organizers of Cape Coral, though, aren't the only ones to find this restriction of their free speech and rights to assemble. Tea party organizers all across the country have begun to find out just how difficult, if not impossible, it is to be "allowed" to exercise their God-given right to speak their minds against government excess and criminality. City governments all across the country are charging fees for "permits," forcing organizers to pay out huge sums for "insurance policies," and binding tea party organizers in all sorts of government red tape.

In many instances, organizers are being told that they aren't "allowed" to hold rallies on government property. Imagine that? We, the taxpayers of the city/state/federal government aren't "allowed" to gather on property that our own taxes paid for.

And then there are the "permits" required to reserve the day, arrange the police protection, and clean up afterward. Often those "permits" can only be applied for at certain times a year, precluding any spontaneous assembly. Also, these "permits" can be denied with no reason stated quashing at birth any plan to exercise the right of assembly.

Here one might wonder how it is that we so often see those lefties appearing on our TV sets engaging in their many organized protests? Don't the flotsam and jetsam of the far left seem to have large protests all the time? One might be drawn to imagine that the government is involved in some sort of grand conspiracy to allow those with anti-American sentiment, the moonbats of the left, to march with impunity. But, hold the tinfoil hats, won't you? Because the wackjobs of anti-war ilk and the shrill, circus acts of the Code Pinkos are expected to cut through the same red tape the tea party organizers have been confronted with. The lefties are just better at it.

You see, contrary to popular conception, the far left has some deep-pocketed backers (your George Soros types, unions and even government funds) and a raft of organizations that do "protests" as a full time job. Their protest marches and rallies are far from spontaneously organized. These groups are thoroughly knowledgeable about the red tape and governmental hoops through which they must jump to carry off a successful protest assembly. After all, the hatemongers of the left are intimately intertwined with city governments all across the country. They understand what needs to be done because, by and large, city officials used to belong to, or belong still to the sorts of groups that plan lefty protests. Your new president is one of them. Being part of government, these leftie protest marchers help write the rules, being intimately associated with government they are quite well informed about what is required and how to get around or satisfy those rules.

But the obstacles are coming as a shock to the average citizens that love this country. For their whole lives peace-loving, work-a-day Americans have taken for granted that there exists the freedom to assemble completely unaware that those rights have been eliminated by stealth regulation by governments all across the land.

And now the folks in Cape Coral, Florida have learned their lesson.

Americans do not have the rights they always thought they did. There is no right to protest government. There is no right to assemble. The people have no rights at all to voice their displeasure. Shut up people. Go home. Nothing to see here. Go quietly back to your IPods and DVDs. Big daddy government will take care of you. The Obemmessiah will decide what's best for you. Don't worry your little heads. Oh, and thank you for your payments on April 15th.

Put away the tar and feathers, won't you? There's a nice fella.

$22,000 Worth of Tea Party Gear

Posted: 30 Mar 2009 08:23 AM PDT

Just under three weeks ago we launched The Official Tax Day Tea Party store over at Zazzle.com. The store was created by Leslie Harrington, the graphic designer for the DontGo Movement and the person credited with most of the great Tea Party graphics you see floating around the web.

When Leslie first created the store, it was our hope that we would be able to raise $500 or so to help buy TEA-shirts for each of our organizers across the country. This would require that we sell at least $2,500 worth of product through the store.

Much to our surprise, this morning our account shows we've sold more than $22,000 worth of Tea Party Gear! The profit on this is about $6,400, which will allow us to purchase 400+ TEA-shirts for our local organizers to wear on Tax Day.

The remaining profit from the store will be equally spread between Smart Girl Politics, TCOT, and the DontGo Movement (these three groups have put in a HUGE amount of time and energy to help get the Tea Party Movement where it is today).

Without question, this is a very worthy cause and thanks to YOU we've exceeded our goals and expectations. So with that said… we want to thank every one of you who purchased something through our Tea Party Store.

Oh… and if you've received your Tea Party stuff, send us pics and we'll post them here.

"Great Lakes for Huck's Sake" Monthly Meeting!/4/15 Tea Party!

Attention all Michigan HuckPAC supporters!

The "Great Lakes for Huck's Sake" will be meeting on the fourth Thursday of every month at the Olive Garden Restaurant in Auburn Hills, Michigan at 6 p.m.  After we meet for dinner, we will be envelope -stuffing and addressing letters to Congress. If Auburn Hills is too far for you to travel, please e-mail me a restaurant location and I'll e-mail the invites out to people in your area.

Our first challenge was brought to us by David Nelson of Berkley.  He suggested we bring red envelopes and address them to  President Barack Obama, The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington D.C. 20500. On the backside of the envelope you write: "this envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion. It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of this world."  It is not to late to do this- let's pray that our President hears the cries of the innocents.

The next challenge is to bring tea bags and stationary.  We are encouraging everyone to watch the Second American Revolution:  This "must see" video is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeYscnFpEyA.  Here "Thomas Paine" encourages us to join in the fight by mailing tea bags to "our non-representative representatives" in Congress.  Inside, we could enclose a plea for the Fair Tax-  "Taxes: "Be Fair- Or You Are Outta There".

I'll be bringing with me my new bumper stickers, for which I hope to help Huckpac raise some money.  "Eliminate   Toxic Waste, Begin With Congress". Look for them on E-bay.

When the time nears for the Congressional elections of 2010, our group will be like a family.  We are going to rise up  and restore our nation back to the vision of its forefathers- one election at a time.
