Anderson, DD,1st, IL)   Well, in 1913 we took a little trip,         We gave the Constitution into Karl Marx's grip, We lived on left--overs until April came around,         Then we hooted like an owl when the refund trickled down. (shadow chorus) We filed our forms an' we waited for a refund,             There wasn't near as much cuz th' Congress couldn't save, We hired out guns to protect out little earnings,             Thinkin' we were citizens an' livin' like a slave!   Well, we looked for our money an' we saw that there were none,         An we owed a debt to China an' it didn't look like fun, So we stepped outside an we saw that you an me,         Could have a better time if we had a little TEA!    (party) (shadow chorus) We filed our forms an' we waited for a refund,             There wasn't near as much cuz th' Congress couldn't save, We hired out guns to protect out little earnings,             Thinkin' we were citizens an' livin' like a slave!   Well it's been a long time of a century passin' by         An some are thinkin' time we be openin' up an eye, But Rip Van Winkle is a devil to awake         So we're  singin' songs jus' to try an' make a clean break!      (shadow chorus) We filed our forms an' we waited for a refund,             There wasn't near as much cuz th' Congress couldn't save, We hired out guns to protect out little earnings,             Thinkin' we were citizens an' livin' like a slave!   Yeah we took the old law, an' we piled up the pages,              An we soon we had a mountain more than any man could know, The FairTax said it replaced the many taxes,         Simple an' believable is where we gotta go! (elipse) Well the help surely follows when the "grassroots" grow,         So we shouted all around to get people in the know, Got a citizen's bill that'll make us all believe,         An' we're takin' it to Washington because we got a GRIEVE! (shadow chorus) We filed our forms an' we waited for a refund,             There wasn't near as much cuz th' Congress couldn't save, We hired out guns to protect out little earnings,             Thinkin' we were citizens an' livin' like a slave!   Well they hid from the truth, an' they hid from the people,         An' the town hall Patriots were treated like a joke, They wouldn't let the FairTax out of their committee,         So we got us new committee men to bring it to a vote! (sung together, slower, w/ pauses, acappella) When the FairTax passes; --- then the battle's just begun,             Then the Patriots can gather;  --- to reduce the tax to none, For every tax is taxing;  --- to a people who are free, And the Constitution lives, because the People are WE!    (hold…..)
