From Jayme in Midland: Hi guys,   We have 30 people on our 45 seat bus.  We are still looking for around 15 more people.   We are stopping in Dundee at the Cabelas exit to pick up 3 people from the Kalamazoo area.  We also have a lady from Grand Rapids that would really like to come, however, she can't get her husband to go with her and she doesn't want to drive alone.  Can you pass on the bus info to your people and help us fill this bus!   We are leaving Midland at 9pm tomorrow night.  I am assuming we will be in Dundee around 11:00.  We can also make stops along 75 in other areas.  The cost is $110.  We will drive down there over night, there is a rally at 10am and then we will go lobby with our reps.  and then head home around 5pm and drive through the night.  This is a killer ride, but well worth it.     You can have interested people call Tammy Hyatt at 989-631-2052. Through the 1960's to present day, the media has molded the moral value system of America, telling them this and telling them that.  In 1963, the New York Times headline- 'God is Dead' paints well what ensued with abortion being made a right to kill the unborn child.  The Supreme Court has given back to America their Government by removing the gag on Religious freedom in the First Amendment, taking back our Moral Absolutes. Stand and be heard, be counted among the crowds of Teaparty Patriots.

 

Bart, thankyou for staying strong on this most important immoral fiber we are leading the world in, aborting of babies.  No where in the Constitution can you find such room to act.  To that end, I suggest you focus on the rest of the truth in the Constitution.  God Bless you. For healthcare, mandate State HSA/IRA privately owned to cure SSI/Medicare/aid.

Dear CatholicVote Member,

If you are tempted to think Catholics in America don't matter, I have some news for you.

The past 48 hours of the health care debate has been a pitched battle between Catholic groups fighting over the votes of Catholic representatives.

If this pro-abortion legislation is ultimately passed, some so-called "Catholic" groups will be responsible. They have done major damage to the pro-life cause and provided cover for Democrats to abandon their pro-life record.

First, it was the Catholic Health Association writing a letter to pro-life Democrats encouraging them to vote 'yes' on the Senate pro-abortion healthcare bill. Then yesterday, it was a letter from NETWORK – an advocacy group of Catholic sisters who called for passage of the pro-abortion bill and promised they would be "working on all levels to promote [its] passage."

Sadly, these groups got to Rep. Dale Kildee. You and I passionately pleaded with him to hold the line, running radio ads for days in his district. But he gave in to pressure yesterday saying he had consulted his priest and constituents and concluded "that no federal money can be used for abortion."

This is bogus and he knows it. But the pressure was simply too great, and he gave in.

But we aren't giving up. We have other votes including some "surprise" representatives we are working with that could replace the loss of Kildee and others.

What about the Bishops?

Whenever Catholic groups or politicians betray their faith and undermine our Church, people ask me why I don't call out the Bishops more for not confronting people who spread dissent and attack our unity.

I agree that respectful criticism of our Bishops has a place, but in this fight, at this hour, I am convinced the Bishops need our help, not our condemnation.

CatholicVote is now working directly with Bishops across the country. They know about us and they are thrilled to have us working alongside them. I cannot emphasize enough how thankful they are for all that you're doing.

I implored them to personally petition Members of Congress, and to speak out publicly against the distortions being spread by CHA and others. Every Bishop I have spoken with has agreed to do everything he can. And many are already doing so.

The USCCB is running editorials, and today is running ads in major newspapers urging the Congress to OPPOSE the pro-abortion bill.

We are also in direct contact with members of the Stupak Coalition and are assisting them with resources within the Church and in districts where undecided votes remain.

What you can do now

Finally, I have three last things you can do to fight against this horrendous bill.

1. I have two new Congressmen to call. These pro-life Democrats are sitting right on the fence. Call Rep. Jason Altmire at (724) 226-1304 and call Rep. John Boccieri at (330) 489-4414. With so many people calling Congress, you might have difficulty getting through to them. I didn't say this was going to be easy.
   
   
2. Visit CatholicVoteAction.org for our primer: "Why the Senate bill must be opposed."
   
   
3. Pray.
   

The last one is the most important. You and I have made the phone calls, we've defended the Church on the Internet and over the airwaves, we've fought the good fight.

But political pundits have said that Speaker Nancy Pelosi will stop at nothing to get this pro-abortion bill through.

Ultimately, though, the fate of this bill rests in greater hands.

Let every member of CatholicVote join together in prayer over these next few fateful days.

Let us boldly ask Our Lord during this Lenten season for victory in this battle. As hard as we have worked, if this bill is defeated, we will rightly give God all of the praise.

03/18/2010 What the Senate Bill Would Do To America Another day, another no-show for the Obamacare reconciliation bill. House Democrats were quick to shift blame to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) with Rep. Robert Andrews telling The Hill that the delay "has been much more technical than substantive. ... It's not like what tax has to go or what spending has to go." Which is an interesting claim, since Politico reported that AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka was summoned to the White House yesterday afternoon "to discuss a higher-than-expected excise tax on some health care plans." In fact, Politico added: "A labor source said Trumka's meeting would focus on the entire bill, not just the excise tax question." Sounds like more than just technical details are still in flux. But in reality, none of these discussions really matter. The reconciliation bill being drafted is nothing more than thin political cover for House Democrats who believe the Senate bill is terrible public policy but want to please their leadership and the President by voting for it anyway. As we detailed yesterday, there is no bill but the Senate bill. Once the House passes the Senate bill, the President will sign it. Game over. It has been almost three months since the Senate passed their bill in the dead of night on Christmas Eve. A review of just how terrible it really is, is in order: New Middle-Class Taxes: Throughout his campaign, President Barack Obama promised he would not raise taxes on American households making less than $250,000. The Senate bill shatters that promise. For starters, just look at the reason Trumka went to the White House yesterday: the excise tax on high-cost health insurance plans. This tax would overwhelmingly hit middle-class taxpayers. Taxes on prescription drugs, wheel chairs and other medical devices would also be passed on to all consumers, hitting the lower- and middle- classes the hardest.

Facing election-year pressure "over unemployment, US senators have introduced legislation that would impose tough new penalties on China if it failed to revalue its currency," the AFP reports.

The legislation, which enjoys support from both sides of the political aisle, would punish currency manipulation as an unfair subsidy and could trigger a set of retaliatory US action.

The move came as lawmakers in Washington stepped up criticism of China ahead of November mid-term US elections, accusing Beijing of securing an unfair edge in trade by keeping the yuan artificially low.

It also follows Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao strong statement at the weekend that Beijing would resist any foreign pressure for a stronger yuan.

"When Premier Wen said that China's currency is not overvalued two days ago, that was the last straw and here we are to tell them we are going to force you to do it -- plain and simple," said Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer Tuesday as he unveiled the legislation at a news conference.

Sam Brownback (R-KS):

Republican Senator Sam Brownback said he expected a "huge vote," both in the House of Representatives and the Senate, on such legislation.

Senate Democrats are "circulating a letter intended to assuage nervous House Members who are wavering on supporting a health care reconciliation bill, but without an actual bill to peruse the letter may fall short of the assurances House leaders have been seeking," Roll Call reports.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) called a special caucus on health care Wednesday afternoon and asked Senators to come to his office to sign the letter, which is intended to assure House Democrats that Senate Democrats have the 51 votes or more needed to pass the reconciliation measure.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) indicated that the letter is a general expression of support for health care reform.

"We talked about showing strong support for the House as they move forward," Klobuchar said of expected House votes this week. "But there wasn't a discussion about doing a letter that specifically says we will vote for reconciliation when we haven't seen the bill. But a letter showing that we were generally supportive of moving forward on health care, we thought that that would be helpful."

there are different reactions among the people that receive this Letter sent by a doctor to the Indianapolis Star and to Indiana Senator Bayh.

Some people could care less and will not open the email.

Some people will say, well, what can I do?, and stop reading it and do nothing.

Some people will say after reading it, I wish they do not send me things like this to complicate my life.

Some people will get very upset and start writing their Congresspersons to do something about it.

Some people will believe that we have lost control of our country and feel that we no longer have a Nation that responds to the needs of the people but only to the people in power.

Then to the above you add three things that will inexorably take place or are taking place as I write:

1)The dollar will lose 30-50% of their value in the next 11 months and we will have a cost of living that will go 60 to 100% higher than today.

2)The people are purchasing weapons and ammunition at incredible rates as factories that are producing both, are falling behind although they are working 24/7. This is unprecedented 

   in our country.

3)The unemployment will keep on increasing and at the end of the talked period, will be at least at the 20% (U6) level.

The summation of the above does not augurs a good future for our country and although many people at this moment seem to be in a catatonic mental state, they will have a sudden awakening.

And, to complicate things much further, the churches and the people have allowed God to be removed from our Schools, Courts, without even complaining about it for the most part.

May God have mercy upon our land.
