Restore the American Dream

The American Dream was once a dream of an America in which life should be better, richer and fuller for all, because with hard work, ability, moral behavior and dedication you could assure yourself an opportunity for achievement or success.

The second sentence of the Declaration of Independence gave birth to the idea of the American Dream. It states that "all men are created equal" and have "certain inalienable Rights" including "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." This ideal has inspired generations to create an American experience of national pride, innovation, individual freedom, self reliance and prosperity that fueled the country to world leadership.

Since WWI the United States has been regarded as a beacon of liberty and prosperity achieved through a combination of the philosophical and ethical principles conceived by the founding fathers. Around the world America has been viewed as the promised land where one's prospects in life are defined by one's talents and energy making it a destination for immigrants worldwide in search of a better life. This included the opportunity for their children to receive an education and career opportunities. It represented the opportunity to make individual choices without the restrictions of gender, race, religion or an oppressive government. Today the American Dream is still alive and well in third world countries around the globe – yet here at home it has lost its' luster.

I am also sad to say that I have several friends I work with who immigrated to the U.S. over the past 10 to 15 years from eastern Europe, who now tell me that they feel as though America is turning toward the very thing that they tried to escape – socialism. That is a sobering thing to hear.

So what has happened that we find ourselves in our current situation?...

This Oration belongs next to the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence~
Simple is usually what it takes to make great changes in Societies.  Just did a similar simple this evening on Health Care, here:
You spoke of something to spark us back to prosperity of days gone by, igniting the American Dream.  There is one action that can take us a long way in that direction, along with a plan to bring us back to Constitutional order in the Federal Government.  Note that great societies cannot change without a normal ten year time line to work out the logistics fiscally.
When Ronald Reagan Administered the Free Trade Policy, we all forgot to look at the fact that our tax structure had been set up on production costs, due to available accounting.   We listened to the Government for many years tell us that it is good, free trade and it will get better, service jobs everywhere.  What actually was happening, Corporations were buying up domestic manufacturing and taking the contracts overseas to avoid the IRS code.  Thus, the once largest manufacturing Nation of the world, which won both World Wars foundational by American Manufacturing, was whittled down to size world wide.  Now we are left with an currency that once was the largest asset in the world to an currency with the largest debt in the world.  We have been hoodwinked.
To correct this, simply adopt the two proposals in both the House and Senate called the FairTax Resolution.  This will reduce the cost of production in the USA and will spread equal the Federal tax revenue on both Domestic and Foreign goods, causing a flood of manufacturing back into America.  This will cause such an upspring in wage demands offered by employers, as employees will be in great need and for the first time since the Federal Reserve, workers will be the cause of inflation.
A great site has rose up for the Constitutional vetting of candidates.  The questionnaire is awesome and if you are a nationalist, you will fail the test.  Go to .  Election Federalists will cure our lack of Constitutional conduct.  Accepted the repented, but fire the liar.
  • Della, had a great debate on message board about how the Seventh Amendment has eroded State Sovereignty. 100% agree with you, that if we had Senators from the ranks of State legislature choice, that Senator would be imposing the Constitution on the Federal Government's unconstitutional usurpation of powers.  Appealing the 17th Amendment is a must.
The FairTax plan also appeals the 16th Amendment, that in 1913 began the progressive movement of socialism.  "A heavy or progressive or graduated income tax is necessary for the proper development of Communism." - Karl Marx
The end result will be, we the people will suddenly be in charge of our own destiny, in that we can actually legally avoid paying taxes by not buying anything new, should we ever again have a Constitutional Crisis as are now.
It would behoove the Governors to hold an Constitutional Summit, to discuss all this and get their States on the same page.

  1. Thanks for your support, I wrote this a little over a month ago. I feel very strongly about this particular post and another one called "Calling all Conservative Leaders,Statesman and Patriots..." - The thing is we need to reclaim our values if we want to reclaim our country. We have to find a way to make the time to get involved and make this a priority. Otherwise we will regret it. As Ronald Reagan said,“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free”.
