Great news of mindset in Michigan's State Legislature.  Pulling in the reigns!  Add Mike Cox tax cut and we are close.  MIFairTax will bring the jobs!!!

This week, we are back in Lansing where progress has been slow on the state budget. I'm so pleased by all the excitement generated by my proposal to consolidate the departments of Natural Resources and Environmental Quality. We need more commonsense solutions like this if we hope to get Michigan's economy back on track. Cherry Harvest Time! After months of hard work, sweat and, yes probably a few tears, we finally get to collect the fruits of our labors - literally! The cherry harvest is upon us, and in the McManus family, that means all hands on deck to bring in this year's crop and get it to the processing facility. The annual harvest is a time for the whole family to pitch in. Living and working on my family's cherry farm has taught me the values of faith, family and hard work. Those are the values I brought to Lansing and those are the values I will bring to the Secretary of State's office. Did you know that close to 75 percent of the tart cherries grown in the United States come from right here in Michigan? So whether it's cherry pie, chocolate-covered cherries or even that bright red maraschino cherry on top of a banana split, Michigan cherries are everywhere. Look for updates and photos in the coming weeks!
