FairTax Friday l Facebook for FairTax plus FairTax Radio!

"We must open the doors of opportunity. But we must also equip our people to walk through those doors." - Lyndon B. Johnson

Facebook for FairTax plus FairTax on Radio!

The media has been talking about Facebook for years, but do you know how you can use it to enact the FairTax?

Social networking can be found on multiple websites but Facebook is the most popular for sharing information with friends and family.

You might be surprised at how many people around you use Facebook to regularly communicate.  In fact, it now enjoys over 800 million active users with more than half of those users logging into the site at least once daily. The average user has 130 friends and there are 900 million things like fan pages, events and groups that people interact with! That's a lot of people who can find out about the FairTax!

Consider your potential to recruit new FairTax supporters among your Facebook friends! Now combine that with the nearly 100,000 fans of FairTax.org and you can see our opportunity.

Yesterday, Facebook activists demonstrated how quickly they could tell others about the FairTax. We posted the picture below and asked 500 fans to share it with all their friends. As of today, over 1,400 FairTaxers took up the challenge and around 180,000 friends of FairTax supporters saw one reason why they should support our cause! Now that's impressive. Thank you!

The White House FairTax Petiton Response

Yesterday, the White House responded to the FairTax petition on the We the People website. We're assembling a response, but it's clear their analysis wasn't factual.

You can go to FairTax.org/Facts for details on how the FairTax positively affects the middle class, FairTax.org/Education for information about the FairTax untaxing tuition and FairTax.org/TaxPanel for a rebuttal to the tax panel which didn't examine the FairTax bill as written.

We're moving forward in the knowledge that neither this administration or the previous embraced the FairTax. It's up to us to keep educating those around us!

Grassroots Spotlight - Danny Higgins

Danny is one of the nation's most active FairTax volunteers. His official titles over the years have been District Director, Indiana State Director, FAST board member and his online efforts have been just as impressive. He's started large FairTax Facebook groups and is a great help with the official Facebook page as well.

Danny recently posted a challange to us on Facebook:

Danny Higgins shares the FairTax

Our thanks go out to Danny for his years of ideas, insight, energy, time and resources. His wife, Diana, also has been an integral reason for his sucess.

The FairTax in the News

Herman Cain's other tax plan has credibility - Bloomberg Bussinessweek

Herman Cain does not believe that his 9-9-9 Plan is the best long-term choice for the U.S. Tax Code. Surprised? It's right there on his website. The pizza magnate and Republican Presidential candidate sees his triple-9 proposal as an interim fix and advocates another tax plan entirely for the long run. Vows Cain at hermancain.com: "Amidst a backdrop of the economic renewal created by the 9-9-9 Plan, I will begin the process of educating the American people on the benefits of continuing the next step to the Fair Tax."..

Why doesn't Cain go straight to the FairTax, if he thinks it's a better solution? Richard Lowrie, Cain's adviser on economic issues, responds in an e-mail saying, "The country is tired of economists passing up something great, while they hold out for their own view of perfect, and in doing so, sentence the country to more of the same." The tax plan that sounds like a pizza price is, evidently, not going away…

Fair Tax is better option than 9-9-9 - The Florida Times-Union Editorial

...Cain has done a national service by putting tax reform on the table, but his 9-9-9 plan needed to have been vetted long before the presidential campaign.

The Fair Tax makes more sense. And a general lowering of tax rates while removing deductions would do just as much good for the economy.

That is the basic proposal of candidate Jon Huntsman, but his plan, like his candidacy, suffers from a lack of hype or a catchy slogan...

@GovMikeHuckabee on the Abortion Battle, October 2011

Huck PAC Newsletter

It's been unremarked upon largely in the news media but Nancy Pelosi is launching a crusade against pro-life Republicans in the House for their "war on women."

The sticking point: the Protect Life Act. A bill Nancy Pelosi shamefully said would leave women to die on the floors of health care providers.

Determined to regain power, she's raising money directly for the House campaign committee targeting Republicans and encouraging pro-abortion groups like Emily's list to do the same because of Republican support for pro life policies. We have to fight back.

Huck PAC in addition to fighting for a Republican Senate Majority (to work with a new Republican President!) is also determined to defend the pro-life Republicans we helped elect to Congress last year (42 in all). These men and women need our support today - volunteers to counter the spin and dollars to fight back against the negative attacks.

If you are able to, I encourage you to make an immediate donation to our Pro-Life House Republican Fund today. A donation of $3 or more will help us provide resources to these courageous men and women.

Stand with me,
Mike Huckabee

Letter to: International Tax Reform Discussion Draft -House Committee on Ways & Means

To:  US House & Ways Committee

Subject:  International Tax Reform Discussion Draft

Dear Committee:

Your draft is a small step to no where.  Your proposal changes nothing about our tax structure to effectively create US Industry again. Rather then burden you with a lot of words, find time to review this statement on how we got to this fiscal mess and what will save the USA Fiscally. To put it simple, President Reagan switched to an open border free trade policy while keeping the closed border production tax system. We should have went to an open border tax structure, and that will remove our federal tax from being embedded in Domestic good price, a 15% advantage to US Manufacturing over imports. According to the US Steel Industry, 10% would put them back to work.

http://rgeorgedunn.blogspot.com/p/america-where-did-we-go-wrong.html

*
Here is a dissertation by the Michigan FairTax President on how the flat tax and FAirTax differ. I would remind you that President Reagan gave us a flat tax in the 1980s, which has been amended over 1,400 times. If we go down that road, we will continue to slide as we have for 30 years, till we collapse. We don't need to hit the reset button for Lobbyist graft. Give America back her 50 Nations and we the people the freedom to prosper.

http://rgeorgedunn.blogspot.com/p/vat-tax-vs-fairtax.html

 *
90% of federal spending is unconstitutional and most is the entitlements.  Here is the answer to resolving Federal entitlements:

http://rgeorgedunn.blogspot.com/p/obamacare-rations-senior-healthcare.html

*
The one fact we must remember, to get the USA back to sound footing, we must use the Nationalist unconstitutional remedies to fix what this nationalism has done to the USA. It will require further bandages like some of Obama's jobs bill without the graft and less all spending not on infrastructure. Keep American workers fed and get about making this following attitude prevail once again.  I remind you that in the 1960s, the cast system was alive and well with it being a shameful act to draw unemployment, even when unemployed.

"Subsidiarity is that principle by which we respect the inherent dignity and freedom of the individual by never doing for others what they can do for themselves and thus enabling individuals to have the most possible discretion in the affairs of their lives.", Archbishop Naumann and Bishop Finn in joint pastoral letter http://paracom.paramountcommunication.com/ct/3640003:5298176903:m:1:123086951:F0B2EF81B962BED24AC3E4F049043A69

FairTax requires a January first starting date and takes at least 3 months to prep business to the system.  It would be better to implement FairTax on 1/1/12, but reality is, you will need to use a temporary plan to begin the healing of our nation, by providing a transition plan to FairTax. Mr. Cain has stated your welcome to use his plan. I suggest you consider it and use it.

Sincerely concerned our Nation is on the edge of collapse, with a century to return if ever to it's current status.

Scholars of the 1980's came up with FairTax as the answer to Free Trade Policy's burden by ProductionTax, the IRS, the Flat Tax.

If memory serves correctly, there are 74 Signatures on the original document, the most highly held scholars of that era. They took about 10 years getting to end product. Much research and vetting took place thereafter at the tune of 20 million dollars.

Think why? It is then that President Reagan gave us the Free Trade Policy. What these scholars see, is by opening the borders, we become burdened by the antiquated production tax, no known as the IRS code, puts on domestic manufacturing. They wanted to fix that, but there was not any possible way to get it done without preparation.

Not to dip into the reasons for bubbles and the reasons for positive growth with continued deficit growth. Illusions aplenty. If that did not make sense, it is politics and it don't matter. Simply put, we have not had to face this issue til now, due to the government band aids. There is a reason the leading economists of the world are embracing FairTax, and why these 74 signatures mean even more.

FairTax Friday ~ "I endorse the FairTax" - In your words * 80 Economists endorse FairTax Legislation

"Nothing is stronger than an idea whose time has come." - Victor Hugo

"I endorse the FairTax" - In your words

We asked FairTax supporters on Facebook to tell the public why they support the FairTax as if they were running for President. Hundreds of you weighed in and some of the best explanations are below:

Scott Wrangham - It is fair, simple, creates jobs, is environmental friendly, and shifts the control of taxes away from the government and into the hands of the people like no other piece of legislation in our country's history.

Brian Freeman - Imagine the economic stimulus that our country would have if everyone received the top line of their paycheck next week...

Tim Peterson - It would more effectively fund our government functions by tapping into the highest motives and incentives for compliance rather than relying upon the worst impulses and requirements of state coercion...

Dustin Price - It prevents the tax code from favoring foreign made goods, being a tool of control by the government and there are no loopholes.

Bobby Norwood - It would remove the tax discussion from political discourse and force politicians to focus on real problems and workable solutions. Its effects on the economy are, at this point, beyond debate and above reproach...

Markus Corvenus Fretshredder - Both progressives and conservative's strive for equality in some form. The FairTax gives prebates to the poor and taxes a person not on what they make, but on what they buy

Victoria Blood - The fair tax makes us all equal. Everybody pays. Instantly create millions of new taxpayers. Saves millions of trees by eliminating all that paper work and encourages recycling. Takes the power out of the hands of government and gives it back to the people. It is a truely "progressive" tax. It encourages saving for the things we want so reduces debt. Creates a prosperous environment for business. Equalizes international trade.

Art Williams - It is the ONLY way to remove ALL taxation from poor people... that is, visible and invisible taxes.

Ken Rainoshek - Because it levels the playing field for all businesses and individuals and would be a sonic boom to our economy. No longer would congress be able to pick favorites using the tax code!

Paul Murphy - It is an honest, visible tax. Under a Fair Tax, Americans will know that nobody is getting special treatment.

Ed Gehres - ‎12 trillion dollar influx into the economy, more money in everyone's pocket to spend or save, no IRS or tax day, no more congress wasting time doing annual revamps of the current code and millions of trees saved from the tax code printing presses. What's not to like?

Ted L Bullard - Because the vast majority of politicians are against it. What does that tell you?

See all the responses and add your own here.

Gary Johnson: A GOP Candidate Out but Not Down The Fiscal Times

...Tweeting during the debate last night, Johnson pushed the fair tax, something he's long advocated. "Cain's 9-9-9 plan basically phases in the fair tax," he wrote, in response to the debate discussion about Herman Cain's tax plan. "Just implement [that]." Johnson also tweeted, "I promise to advocate throwing out the entire federal tax system and replace it with the fair tax." And he said, "The criticism of his [Cain's] 9-9-9 plan is justified in that the phasing presents all of the same old problems."...

Ditch tax system? That's fair, group saysThe Chippewa Herald

Bob Martin doesn't mind paying taxes. As a pharmacist at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, the Lake Hallie resident said he is paid a good salary and is glad to pay taxes.

But, he said: "I shouldn't have to pay someone $400 to do them." Martin said the Fair Tax Act of 2011 would change that, revitalize the nation's economy and spur the creation of thousands of jobs, if not more…

Martin said the Fair Tax movement is not affiliated with a political party and is supported by both Republicans and Democrats. "Check your colors at the door. This is tax reform," he said, although he admits more Republican lawmakers support the idea than Democrats…

my comment:

A income of 25,000 will have to pay the 9% income tax, but will get back the 7.65% payroll tax on SSI and there is talk of giving a minimum wage increase of 7.65% to assuade the employer to give the worker the 7.65% SSI tax also ended, to make for a cashflow increase for the poor under 9-9-9.
Also, when you change from our current production tax to a consumption tax it takes the tax out of domestic goods price. FairTax would take much more out, but we will see a reduction of embedded taxes, such as the 22% that is hidden in bread today.

@TheHermanCain 9-9-9/FairTax Plan has great traction as the only plan to fix our economic mess

FairTax is the best progressive plan there is as it ends tax on all essentuals up to the maximum poverty wage for everyone. It also takes out of the price of domestic products all federal taxes, put there by the employer to recoup the tax expense. It also givs workers gross pay, no more federal tax of any sort.

9-9-9 is a half step to fairTax, as it takes out only a small portion of federal taxes from the price of bread made in America, 22% today is federal taxes. 9-9-9 will bring in eployment, thus jobs.

FairTax will bring in more employment making it so workers will be in emand and will have bidding privilege of who wins your labor.

9-9-9 will be kind to middle class in the long run. In the short run, your income tax is 9%, not 15 or 28% or is it 34 now. Also, you no longer pay for SSI by direct deduction. That is a 7.65% pay raise in reality of cashflow. After yousee the benefit of a half FairTax, you will embrace a GDP growth over 10% for years.

What we need to add to 9-9-9 is Constitutional Conduct in DC. By going to a privately owned HSA/IRA, locally invested, we can end federal entitlements.

FairTax Friday ~ Moving the campaign forward #tcot #sgp #p2 #gop #dems #teaparty

"You see, in life, lots of people know what to do, but few people actually do what they know. Knowing is not enough! You must take action." - Anthony Robbins

Feature: Moving the campaign forward

Today, we're introducing you to the newest member of the FairTax.org team, Cindy Canevaro! She brings a new level of experience and opportunity to our movement and is spearheading our refreshed national campaign. She writes below:

Three months ago I joined the FairTax organization as the National Campaign Manager. I believe that grassroots volunteers are the heartbeat of the FairTax campaign and let me say at the outset thank you for all you do – from contributions to networking to boots on the ground.

My earliest years were spent as a grassroots volunteer on state legislative, gubernatorial and U.S. Senate campaigns. This led to joining a political action committee and then a presidential campaign followed by appointment by the President to federal service and twenty years in the global IT outsourcing business.

During the past 10+ years I have become increasingly alarmed at how outdated and destructive our current tax system has become to individual and corporate productivity. As a result, joining Americans for Fair Taxation was an easy decision.

I believe the FairTax will one day be the law of the land. When will that be? When enough citizens like you demand it. Thus, working with the FAST board, our mission is to recruit and train 3,000 activist volunteers in all 435 Congressional districts across America.

Imagine the impact in the media that 1,305,000 activist could have with daily Op-Eds and Letters to the Editors! Imagine the kind of pressure members of Congress might feel when 1,305,000 FairTax activist visited their offices, attended their town halls and informed them that they'll be supporting candidates who support the FairTax! Imagine the day when individuals no longer cower in fear over annual tax filings and the prospect of being audited.

Our movement's greatest strength are citizens like you who understand what many in Congress have thus far failed to acknowledge – the FairTax equals a better economy which equals more jobs which equals economic prosperity. Your volunteer efforts on behalf of the FairTax are critical to our success but I have a request: Would you consider donating $10 a month, or more as you're able, to recruit this army of 1,305,000 activists? It will take Americans united from the left, center and right to force Congress into action and we are gearing up for the next step in our campaign.

With your continued support of the FairTax, I am convinced that one day soon, we will all be able to imagine together how great it will be the day HR 25, "The FairTax Act" becomes law.

Thank you!

Cindy Canevaro - National Campaign Manager

Cain Tax Proposal Piques Left, RightWall Street Journal

Herman Cain's tax-overhaul plan is helping fuel a boomlet in the polls, but conservatives are divided over its proposed national sales tax while liberals worry that his proposal would penalize lower earners.

The Republican presidential candidate wants to scrap the current system—with its income-tax rates as high as 35% for individuals and corporations—and replace it with a system that combines a 9% personal flat tax, a 9% corporate flat tax and a 9% national sales tax…

The plan combines features of various tax plans that appeal to conservatives, including the flat-rate income tax and the FairTax, a kind of national sales tax. The plan's ultimate aim would be to move to the FairTax and scrap income tax altogether. Mr. Cain is a longtime supporter of the FairTax.

Fair Tax would solve tax dilemmaMy Central Jersey

Especially today we need to grow our economy. Can tax reform play a role?

Most certainly and via the Fair Tax now in Congress as HR 25. The Fair Tax rewards and encourages economic success and is progressive. It eliminates all federal personal and corporate and payroll taxes; it replaces that with a revenue neutral consumption tax on only new products and services. Rebates are provided to low-income earners. The zero percent corporate tax rate will position the U.S. as an entrepreneurial haven for domestic and foreign investors. More jobs will be created in the U.S. as a result.

Furthermore, the Fair Tax eliminates the IRS along with a $430 billion annual burden or almost 3 percent of our economy. Technology is in place for tax collection at point of sales. How much of the $430 billion (total cost of the IRS, plus compliance) contributes to economic growth? Likely none.

Pretty impressive background.

Did you know this about Herman Cain?
I just found this Bio on Herman Cain;

Herman Cain is running for president. He's not a career politician (in fact he has never held political office). He's known as a pizza guy, but there's a lot more to him. He's also a computer guy, a banker guy, and a rocket scientist guy.
Here's his bio:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science.
  • Mathematician for the Navy, where he worked on missile ballistics (making him a rocket scientist).
  • Computer systems analyst for Coca-Cola.
  • VP of Corporate Data Systems and Services for Pillsbury (this is the top of the ladder in the computer world, being in charge of information systems for a major corporation).
All achieved before reaching the age of 35. Since he reached the top of the information systems world, he changed careers!
  • Business Manager. Took charge of Pillsbury's 400 Burger King restaurants in the Philadelphia area, which were the company's poorest performers in the country. Spent the first nine months learning the business from the ground up, cooking hamburger and yes, cleaning toilets. After three years he had turned them into the company's best performers.
  • Godfather's Pizza CEO. Was asked by Pillsbury to take charge of their Godfather's Pizza chain (which was on the verge of bankruptcy). He made it profitable in 14 months.
  • In 1988 he led a buyout of the Godfather's Pizza chain from Pillsbury. He was now the owner of a restaurant chain. Again he reached the top of the ladder of another industry.
  • He was also chairman of the National Restaurant Association during this time. This is a group that interacts with government on behalf of the restaurant industry, and it gave him political experience from the non-politician side.
Having reached the top of a second industry, he changed careers again!
  • Adviser to the Federal Reserve System. Herman Cain went to work for the Federal Reserve Banking System advising them on how monetary policy changes would affect American businesses.
  • Chairman of the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank. He worked his way up to the chairmanship of a regional Federal Reserve bank. This is only one step below the chairmanship of the entire Federal Reserve System (the top banking position in the country). This position allowed him to see how monetary policy is made from the inside, and understand the political forces that impact the monetary system.
After reaching the top of the banking industry, he changed careers for a fourth time!
  • Writer and public speaker. He then started to write and speak on leadership. His books include Speak as a Leader, CEO of Self, Leadership is Common Sense, and They Think You're Stupid.
  • Radio Host. Around 2007—after a remarkable 40 year career—he started hosting a radio show on WSB in Atlanta (the largest talk radio station in the country).
He did all this starting from rock bottom (his father was a chauffeur and his mother was a maid). When you add up his accomplishments in his life—including reaching the top of three unrelated industries: information systems, business management, and banking—Herman Cain may have the most impressive resume of anyone that has run for the presidency in the last half century.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

The White House just announced a first of its kind petition and FairTax supporters want to be heard!

"The right to petition your government is guaranteed by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. We the People provides a new way to petition the Obama Administration to take action on a range of important issues facing our country. We created We the People because we want to hear from you. If a petition gets enough support, White House staff will review it, ensure it's sent to the appropriate policy experts, and issue an official response."

At this time, if 5,000 people sign a petition in 30 days, the White House or administration official will respond!

So register and sign the official FairTax petition at FairTax.org/Petition, watch our official Facebook page for updates and forward this email to a friend!

Our official petition:

The FairTax is a nonpartisan, tax reform plan to replace many federal taxes, such as taxes on income, payroll and capital gains, with a progressive, national sales tax collected by the states.

The FairTax legislation, HR 25 & S 13, will:

- Create jobs and restore the Made in America label – FairTax.org/Jobs

- Provide monthly "prebate" payments to untax necessities and the poor - FairTax.org/Prebate

- Lower tax rates for all income groups - FairTax.org/Rates

- Save $430 billion in annual compliance costs - FairTax.org/Compliance

- Lower home costs – FairTax.org/Homes

- Raise equal revenue as the current system - FairTax.org/Revenue

AFFT and the undersigned, urge President Obama to join Americans from the right, left and center to support the FairTax.

FairTax In the News

The "Real" Jobs BillThe Florida Times-Union

Short-term fiscal policies fail to get long term results. We need permanent, pervasive and predictable long-term tax reform.

Want a jobs bill that will work and not cost one penny of government spending or new debt? A program to reverse the outflow of jobs and companies and bring $10-12 trillion of offshore capital to our country?...

Herman Cain for President: What Are His Positions?  - International Business Times

…Cain calls his tax proposals the "999 plan," because it would create three flat taxes at a rate of 9 percent. The first would be a 9 percent business tax, which would apply to a business's gross income minus investments, dividends paid to shareholders and purchases from other businesses. The second would be a 9 percent individual tax on gross income minus charitable contributions. The third would be a 9 percent national sales tax, which would pave the way to eventually transition entirely to the "fair tax," or a tax on spending rather than income…
