Most Americans do not want funding of abortion in the bill.

Horne is the federal policy analyst for Focus on the Family Action, and works closely with lawmakers to promote pro-family and pro-life policies.

She is also involved in educating constituents and calling them to action on important issues that affect the family.

1. Why is this proposed health care legislation so significant?

From a social policy standpoint, this bill would be the single greatest expansion of abortion we've seen since Roe vs. Wade. The health care bill that the Democrats are pushing forward allows for direct federal funding of abortion, calls for federal regulations that would expand access to abortion and provides federal subsidies to help people purchase private insurance that covers abortion.
