US Constitution: Congress (not a private corporation) shall lay and collect taxes; imposts, duties, and excises……. "there shall be no direct tax….."

The 16th Amendment, the Federal Income Tax, fundamentally and unlawfully (prohibited in constitutional principle and likely not properly ratified according to constitutional research scholars) radically changed the American ideal of fairness in trade and commerce by penalizing the pursuit of happiness and equality in income opportunity by mulcting both income and stored value for the general populace. It created the monstrosity of Crony Capitalism - Big Finance/Central Bank; consequently, Big Corp, Big Ag, Big Pharma, eliminating Main Street, the Family Farm, a Fair Playing Field for individual competition. It has created the DEEP STATE control across the board with power over Federal Bureaus, institutions, education, journalism, courts and the Congress and Administration itself.
