GOP Delegates are all uncommitted at National Convention 1st Vote

Brokered convention taking shape

...The current perception given by elite media is based on there being a rule in place “binding” party delegates to vote for the candidate that won certain “bound” states, whereas actual RNC rules prohibit state election rules or party platforms from having any influence on the eventual delegates and how they decide to vote at the RNC.

Those laws were already clearly explained by the RNC in 2008 when this very issue arose, ironically enough, regarding a John McCain delegate in Utah that wanted to switch their vote to, none other than, Mitt Romney when they reached the RNC.

Attorneys for the RNC have clearly stated the Republican and Democratic parties are, in essence, non-binding, non-governmental private clubs and do not hold any weight with regard to actual GOP election laws and the 'official' caucus that takes place at the RNC, every 4 years.

According to FairVote.org, Jenneifer Sheehan, Legal Counsel for the RNC, plainly stated in a 2008 letter to Nancy Lord, Utah National Committeewoman, several weeks before the convention,

The RNC does not recognize a state's binding of national delegates, but considers each delegate a 'free agent' who can vote for whoever they choose.

The national convention allows delegates to vote for the individual of their choice, regardless of whether the person's name is officially placed into the nomination or not.”...

  1. I would love to see the embarrassed faces of the ultra liberal press jerks in the MSN or FOX (who claims to be conservative) CNN and others, if RON PAUL won the nomination for the Republican Party. That would make it hard on Obama. Obama has a lot of negative material to attack Romney on, but there is nothing really negative he could attack RON PAUL on. That would be an interesting contest. The liberty loving Americans on one side and the ultra liberal communist Americans on the other side. WOW what a contest that would be. At least we would know who our neighbors are.

  2. Yes, that would be very interesting. But I see a brokered convention that may bring in Newt, Cain, Huckabee or Sarah into the vote, bringing about a conservative bent away from the nationalism. I do like Paul. I was afraid of his foreign policy until I did a study of it and when Israel supported Doctor Paul's foreign policy, I suddenly realized that we have been playing the Beast.

    1. You are still stuck on Sarah Palin? or Newt? come into reality, pal. Either one of those is un-electable against Obama and will scare independent thinkers like myself out of the election.

    2. Taxhitman, please explain exactly WHY Newt and Palin are "unelectable". Who told you so? What's wrong with them? Please be specific.

  3. Newt Gingrich would be the best nominee, by far, on every issue. Gingrich could debate Obama under the table and his ideas are the only ones comprehensive and creative enough to solve our monumental problems. I too would love to see Carl Rove, Coulter, and the rest of the Fox RINOs eat their words. Would never vote for Oromney. Would write in Newt.

  4. Newt Gingrich is the best choice for Conservative leadership by far.... Ron Paul is a fine Libertarian candidate. Both will fight for state and national sovereignty and either one will hand Obama his rear end. Mitt Romney is a progressive liberal that will guarantee the globalization that Obama has been setting us up for in the event that he actually takes him down. In other words... A vote for Mitt Romney is a vote for Obama.... Un-American! Goooo Gingrich! Goooo Paul!

  5. Rule 38 will give us a Republic Caucus creating an re-do of the conservative candidates, not being handicapped by the splitting of their constituents, causing the losing faction to win.

  6. Ron Paul has the most experience being consistent, true to his principles and a Patriot. Newt has played the "fields" both sides for personal gain, so his stance would be the one to favor him not us. Sarah when she first came on seemed to have good american values, that has changed, she has become one the pack. No dice!! Ron Paul President 2012
