Some of you may know me as the minister who has fought for traditional marriage across the country -- most recently with special effort in Iowa and Indiana.
But who knew that my involvement with such issues and the latest Tea Party movement would lead to me once again running for State Representative in Kentucky (1st run in 2006)???!!! Certainly not me. I made this decision two days before the filing date this Tuesday. Nevertheless, I have answered what I feel to be a call from God, and furthermore an appeal to patriotism. Our country is in dire critical need of leadership.
Anyhow, I would be honored to have each of you join my Facebook fan page at choosebrewer.com. I realize that some of you may not live in Kentucky, but in many ways we are all fighting our common enemy of the socialist/liberal agenda. Your views and even distant support would be greatly appreciated. My Ten Point Candidate Pledge follows in the post script.
thanks and God bless,
Rev. John Brewer
president of Virtue1st/DefendMarriage
candidate for KY State Representative, 28th district in Louisville, KY

Ten Point Candidate Pledge
I pledge to:
1) use my office and its resources to support and
defend the U.S. Constitution as interpreted by
the principle of "original intent".
2) bring honor and virtue to the office for which I am
running, even if it means that it costs me my political
career.
3) respect my constituents by listening to their concerns
and acting promptly, courteously, and thoughtfully on
their requests.
4) put the people ahead of all special interests, including
those of " Big Labor" and "Big Corporations".
5) work for transparency in government such that public
involvement is the rule and not the exception.
6) read the bills I vote upon, and further, have a working
knowledge of all substantive details of those bills.
7) support legislation that makes it a requirement for all
bills to be posted and available for public inspection
a minimum of 72 hours prior to a full vote by any
legislative chamber (federal or state), excepting only
those which may arise from extreme emergency or
security.
8) remember that no government has money that was
not coerced from a private citizen's savings;
government works for the people.
9) vote as a fiscal conservative: "Excessive debt, taxation,
and regulation are as much a threat to liberty as they
are to prosperity."
10) vote as a social conservative: "Whether represented
by the sanctity of life or traditional marriage,
truth is non-negotiable."
