ACORN Funding still in Senate Bill /Petition for Conciliation conference

Dear Robert,

What a week.

I have written you twice already this week about ACORN and I wanted to give you yet another update.

Because of all of your work and the hard work ACU has done over the course of the entire year to eliminate ACORN's funding; both the House and the Senate have now finally passed bills to end portions of ACORN's federal taxpayer funding.

That is the good news. However, the Senate version of the bill only defunds parts of ACORN.  It eliminates ACORN from getting any more federal taxpayer money for transportation and housing programs.

The House bill goes further.  They listened to your outcry and the House bill de-funds almost all of ACORN.  So, now the Senate and House bills must be reconciled.  That means there is an opportunity for the liberals behind ACORN to try and stop us before ACORN is fully de-funded from federal taxpayer funds.

We have made tremendous progress with week, working together.  But we must do more and keep the pressure on if all ACORN federal funding is going to cease.

Some of you even forwarded our emails onto others to get them to sign.  That is tremendously helpful.

If you can, please also forward the link to your family, friends and neighbors.

After you sign the petition you will see links to go to the special ACU ACORN Action Page where we created videos exposing ACORN months and months ago when few were talking about it.  While on the ACU website at www.conservative.org you can also visit our ACTION CENTER to find the phone numbers of your Senators and House members if you would like to call them and urge them to de-fund ACORN fully, as well.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SIGN THE ACU ACORN PETITION TO DE-FUND ACORN IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO YET.

It has been a great week with our ACU Legacy Conference, which liberal publications like Mother Jones are now using to attack us and other conservative leaders.  The Conference proved that our conservative leaders on Capitol Hill are listening to your voice.  Please keep the pressure up.

Sincerely,
 DW
