Cap and Trade is a Bad Idea * Saul

Cap and Trade is a Bad Idea

March 22nd, 2009 by Saul Anuzis

In a Detroit News Editorial they point out that ever liberal Senator Carl Levin understands the significant impact a politically motivated Cap and Trade bill would have on our country.  This is bad public policy and just another attempt to increase the size and scope of government.

Legislation as controversial as cap-and-trade should receive a lengthy public airing, not be slipped inside a larger bill and rushed through as if it were just another piece of congressional pork.

This is an issue that will have a huge impact on all of us…pay attention!

The process of deception by hiding a piece of major legislation in bills considered to not need the meeting of a filibuster rule should be held either unlawful by common law understanding or to violate the filibuster law and demand a walkout by congress for such conduct.  Better yet, consider it a suspension of all the imposed rules and let the filibuster procedure of taking the floor and holding it be instituted, even if by full pledged resistance.  It is time for Washington to grow up and stop frauding the people.
