National Inflation Assoc. New Video Goes Viral, "The Day the Dollar Died"

NIA's New Video Goes Viral

On Wednesday, November 24th, the National Inflation Association released a shocking and stunning video entitled, 'The Day the Dollar Died', which shows the world exactly what could happen to the U.S. economy in the very near future during the first 12 hours of a U.S. dollar collapse. Although the video itself is fictional, NIA believes a U.S. dollar collapse is inevitable and there is a strong likelihood that the U.S. will experience an outbreak of hyperinflation this decade. 'The Day the Dollar Died' is a wake up call for Americans who aren't yet stocking up on gold, silver and food supplies. The U.S. dollar's day of reckoning is coming and only Americans who prepare now will survive.

In just 42 hours since its release, 'The Day the Dollar Died' has already been viewed over 145,000 times on YouTube. It is currently YouTube's #1 top favorited news and politics video. Approximately 1,200 people have commented about the video on YouTube alone, with thousands of more comments having been made about the video on hundreds of Internet blogs that have featured it. An amazing 93.5% of those who have watched 'The Day the Dollar Died' have given it a thumbs up.

All of the discussion about 'The Day the Dollar Died' comes hot on the heels of NIA's October 31st release of its latest critically acclaimed full length documentary 'End of Liberty', which shows how Americans are rapidly losing their liberties and freedoms, and how our country is headed for a complete societal collapse. 'End of Liberty' has already received about 1/2 million views in less than one month.

On November 5th, NIA released a report with its projections for future U.S. food prices based on the recently announced $600 billion in quantitative easing by the Federal Reserve. Several days later, NIA's food inflation report was featured live on Fox News by Glenn Beck, who was recently ranked by Newsweek as the #2 most influential political figure in the country. On November 12th, NIA's President Gerard Adams was a guest on the Fox Business Network, where he spoke about the potential for food inflation to take over as America's biggest crisis in 2011.

NIA is not a political organization and does not support Republicans or Democrats. NIA exists solely for the purpose of educating Americans to the truth about the U.S. economy and inflation. Americans live in a country where 99% of those who studied economics in college were taught voodoo Keynesian economics.

Keynesian economists have the mistaken belief that all recessions are bad and must be suppressed by government interference in the free market. They believe that by the Federal Reserve manipulating interest rates to artificially low levels and printing trillions of dollars of fiat money out of thin air, they can create jobs, economic growth, and wealth. They believe that a little bit of inflation is good for an economy.

Keynesian economists fail to realize that when price inflation breaks out, it becomes impossible to contain unless interest rates are immediately raised to a level that is higher than the real rate of price inflation. Unfortunately, due to the current size and scope of our national debt and unfunded liabilities, NIA believes it will be impossible for the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates higher than the real rate of inflation. Real interest rates are likely to stay negative until the U.S. dollar collapses and is officially declared dead and worthless.

Gas and grocery bills for all Americans have been rising substantially in recent months. The average American has been seeing health insurance costs spiral out of control on an annual basis. Students have been suffering from college tuitions rising like there is no tomorrow. Massive price inflation is all around us, yet the mainstream media continues to ignore the truth and reports the government's phony CPI numbers as gospel.

Politicians in Washington from both sides of the aisle have been colluding with the media in order to brainwash Americans into believing inflation is not a problem and that their real fear should be deflation. Deflation is a good thing for middle class Americans because it means their money is worth more and their incomes and savings have more purchasing power. Inflation is only good for the politicians because it allows them to steal the wealth of middle class Americans and redistribute it to their banker friends on Wall Street who don't produce anything of real value.

There is no reason for a lawyer or banker to make more money than a farmer or factory worker. This is only made possible by the system we have today, where Americans get suckered into electing representatives who promise entitlements that the government can't afford without printing the money to pay for them. When the dollar bubble bursts and the system collapses, the free market will allow farmers and goods producers to become wealthy while lawyers and bankers go broke.

Most Americans are naive enough to believe that because the U.S. has survived for so long with such a huge national debt and continuous budget deficits, the country will be able to continue down this path forever without any consequences because after all, this is America we are talking about. The truth is, our national debt has grown by 70.7% over the past five years, compared to 41.8% during the previous five years, and 14.3% during the five years before that. Meanwhile, our GDP has grown by 17.9% over the past five years, compared to 27.5% during the previous five years, and 32.9% during the five years before that. We have gone from our GDP growing more than twice as fast as our debt, to our debt growing at nearly quadruple the speed of our GDP. A train wreck is getting ready to happen and this train wreck is literally unstoppable.

It is important to spread the word about NIA to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible, if you want America to survive hyperinflation. Please tell everybody you know to become members of NIA for free immediately at: http://inflation.us

FairTax Friday~This Year's Thanks, Next Year's Preparation

"A person with the facts is never at the mercy of someone with just an opinion." - Unknown

Weekly Feature

In a nation like the one we are blessed to be a part of, we always have reasons to be thankful. Regardless of how FairTax supporters feel about a number of issues outside of tax reform, the United States is the country in which we've all chosen to build our lives in and advance our future. Even though we have tremendous challenges ahead and are in the middle of trying times, people all over the world still desire to be a part of the American dream - our city on a hill.

This has also been a very good year for the FairTax movement. The new FAST board (FairTax America Support Team) united our dedicated grassroots leaders around a common goal of passing the FairTax by 2013. The elections saw not one co-sponsor from the Republican or Democratic side be defeated and many more FairTax going to Washington for the first time. More Americans have heard about the FairTax than ever before and it seems the media are finally beginning to understand our cause. Just in the last couple of weeks the FairTax has been discussed at length three different times on TV and print media appearances are increasing as well.

FairTax in the News

Deficit Puzzle: Where's the Fair Tax? - NewYorkTimes.com

...Among the common reader questions I didn't address in the article were these three:

...Why didn't we include the Fair Tax?

The Fair Tax, as one of the Web sites promoting it explains, would replace "all federal income and payroll based taxes with an integrated approach including a progressive national retail sales tax."

We did include a national sales tax, but a much smaller one — one that would not raise nearly enough to replace the income tax. As I mentioned in this post, political viability was one factor in our decisions about what to include. Right now, the Fair Tax just does not garner much support from either Republicans or Democrats, in Congress or in other parts of government...

The Tax Code is the Key: Bring the FairTax to the Floor - HumanEvents.com

...In election cycles before 2010, opponents of the FairTax have been able to use candidates' support of the FairTax against them successfully. In 2010, that wasn't the case: In the races in which Democrats ran ads demonizing their Republican opponents' support of the FairTax, the ads didn't succeed...

It's clear that Congressman-Elect Rob Woodall will be the standard bearer in the new Congress. He says the discussions have started with leadership on the FairTax...

Woodall continued, "There has been a sense in the past that if you bring the FairTax to the floor and it fails, that it's somehow bad for the FairTax. I'm taking a different message up this year, which is, we need to vote on the FairTax. We need to understand where folks are, and failing to get a majority is not failure. That just tells you where it is you have to concentrate your efforts going forward." Woodall believe that the best plan is to bring the FairTax to the floor, to get members on record, and then to assess where things stand. No more "wink and a nod" pseudo-promises. Woodall wants a list of supporters who will be accountable for following through on their earlier representations...

Did You Know?

Scholarly research tells us:

- Real wages are 10.3 percent, 9.5 percent, and 9.2 percent higher in years 1, 10, and 25, respectively than would otherwise be the case.  [3]

- Disposable personal income is higher than if the current tax system remains in place:  1.7 percent in year 1, 8.7 percent in year 5, and 11.8 percent in year 10.  [4]

- The economy as measured by GDP is 2.4 percent higher in the first year and 11.3 percent higher by the 10th year than it would otherwise be.  [4]

- Over time, the FairTax benefits all income groups.  Of 42 household types (classified by income, marital status, age), all have lower average remaining lifetime tax rates under the FairTax than they would experience under the current tax system. [5]

- Implementing the FairTax at a 23 percent rate gives the poorest members of the generation born in 1990 a 13.5 percent improvement in economic well-being; their middle class and rich contemporaries experience a 5 percent and 2 percent improvement, respectively.  [6]

- Based on standard measures of tax burden, the FairTax is more progressive than the individual income tax, payroll tax, and the corporate income tax.  [7]

- Charitable giving increases by $2.1 billion (about 1 percent) in the first year over what it would be if the current system remained in place, by 2.4 percent in year 10, and by 5 percent in year 20.  [8]

- The FairTax provides the equivalent of a supercharged mortgage interest deduction, reducing the true cost of buying a home by 19 percent.  [10]

Christian Coalition of America~ A Thanksgiving Message

Dear Friend,

Fourteen years after the first English settlers dedicated America to God on the sands of Cape Henry, Virginia (April 29, 1607), the Pilgrims in Plymouth, Massachusetts celebrated the first Thanksgiving in 1621.  They wanted to express their thankfulness and their appreciation to their Creator.  Most Americans, to this day, see this holiday as an expression of their faith; of their gratefulness to God for all of the blessings He has bestowed upon them and upon the United States of America.

The native Americans from the Wampanoag tribe had helped the pilgrims survive when they first arrived on this continent in 1620 and established Plymouth Plantation.  The native Americans taught the pilgrims how to fish and to hunt and to plant crops which saved them from starvation, especially during the harsh winters of Massachusetts.

We will soon be celebrating the 400th anniversary of the first Thanksgiving and God has still not withheld His blessings upon this nation.  We have a lot to give thanks for, but we also need to pray to our Heavenly Father and ask Him to protect us from those enemies, outside and within, who want to see America destroyed.

Psalms 100:4 tells us that we need to:  "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name."   Let us try to remember this Thanksgiving, especially as we gather with family and friends among an abundance of riches and blessings which God has given us.

We here at the Christian Coalition of America wish you and your family a happy Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Roberta Combs

Christian Coalition of America

@jackhoogendyk~ Taxpayers to "bail out" the Detroit Symphony Orchestra?-Core Principles

Core Principles Logo

Is it Time for Taxpayers to Bail Out the DSO?

As reported in the Wall Street Journal:

"On StrikeThe Detroit Symphony Orchestra's 85 musicians walked off the job in late September after negotiations broke down over a proposed contract calling for the salaries of veteran musicians to be cut by nearly a third while new players would start at 42% below the current base of $104,650. Pension and health benefits also would be cut.

The players had offered an initial cut to $82,000, but wanted pay partially restored over three years, to $96,600.

The orchestra's management contends the cuts are needed as the DSO faces a $9 million loss this year in its budget, after two seasons in which it had deficits totaling more than $10 million. The orchestra has also said it faces rising interest payments on more than $50 million in bank loans. Revenue shortfall has been unusually severe as the auto industry has shrunk, spurring a drop in ticket subscriptions and decline in donations."

What is the answer? Taxpayers to the rescue! As reported in Gongwer:

"The House is expected to take quick action on a local tax financing package for the Detroit Institute of Arts and Detroit Zoo when it returns from break, but there is talk the chamber could add a third beneficiary: the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

The Senate surprised many when it moved fast on SB 1578 and SB 1579, after previously declining to act on anything close to a tax increase, but the bills are being fast-tracked through the Legislature in general because of the shortened lame-duck session. The House skipped its usual referral of the bills to committee and just put them on second reading.

symphony strikeThe legislation allows voters in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties to create a new property tax to fund the DIA while increasing the existing levy for the zoo.

But unlike the DIA and zoo, which are owned by the city of Detroit but are run by independent nonprofits, the DSO is an independent body reliant purely on ticket sales and donations.

Without a resolution, the DSO expects to run out of endowment money and be broke in two years, according to its website."

If you are not from the Detroit area, you may not care bacause this is a local taxing issue. But, you must ask the question, "when will my local zoo, art museum, or symphony orchestra be added to the lame-duck Christmas tree?"

Perhaps a quick note of encouragement to Senate Leader Mike Bishop and House Minority Leader Elsenheimer would be appropriate. They are both unlikely to support such a tax boondoggle, but some positive reinforcement would likely go a long way. To send them an e-mail, just click on their names.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Obama using executive orders to implement radical agenda
By Dick Morris And Eileen McGann

http://www.JewishWorldReview.com | Does President Obama plan to move to the center in response to his overwhelming rejection at the polls on November 2nd? No way! Instead, he is moving to implement, through executive action, two of the most controversial items in his 2010 agenda — a carbon tax and pollution permit system and a ban on the use of secret ballots in union elections. Through executive action by the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the Obama Administration is planning to effectuate both policies without asking Congress.

Never mind that he couldn't persuade even a top heavy Democratic Congress to pass either program. Or that public opinion polls show massive rejection of both measures. Or that each is a sure job killer by itself — and together, they are even worse. This arrogant, ideologically-driven radical is determined to have his way and the public be damned!
The EPA is currently soliciting public comments for its plan to use the Clean Air Act of 1970 to regulate carbon dioxide emissions. The Clean Air Act, as the name indicates, is designed to fight against pollution — unhealthy chemicals that are belched into the air by smokestacks. It was passed to fight sulfur dioxide, particulates, nitrous oxides and other chemicals that cause human diseases. To use it to fight carbon dioxide — which we all breathe without ill effects — because of concerns about global warming — is a perversion of the law.
Worse, because the Clean Air Act is designed to protect public health by measuring aggregate pollution in each geographic area, it limits economic development in communities where the pollution levels exceed prescribed standards. But carbon dioxide doesn't poison anyone. It makes no sense to ban factory expansion in areas where the nature of the industries is that there will be high carbon dioxide levels (like oil area of Texas and Louisiana). But that's what the EPA plans to do, virtually making economic growth illegal in large parts of the United States.
Meanwhile, Craig Becker, the former chief counsel of the SEIU (Service Employees International Union) — now the head of the NLRB — has secured a 3-2 majority party line majority to repeal the Dana decision which mandates secret ballots in unionization elections. The NLRB will rule that if a majority of workers check off that they want a union on cards then the union will automatically be approved without a secret ballot vote of the entire workforce. Currently, if a majority of the workers sign the cards, a secret ballot vote is then triggered. Frequently, the union loses these elections, proving that the card check off is subject to coercion and bullying. The Democratic majority in the Senate wouldn't approve the card check change so the NLRB is planning to accomplish the same objective administratively, trapping workers into unionization they would reject if afforded the opportunity to vote by secret ballot.
Both the pollution permit/carbon tax and the forced unionization proposals will be job killers. The U.S. has maintained its 25% share of global manufacturing by replacing workers with energy driven machines. In the past ten years, the number of manufacturing employees has declined by 33% but our production has risen by 50%. But automation takes energy — lots of it — by taxing energy, we are eliminating the strategy that has preserved our jobs. And massive unionization of the private sector will also drive out our jobs. Since 1990, unionized manufacturing jobs have declined by 75%. But non-union manufacturing jobs have actually risen over the same period by 15%.
After he lost Congress in 1992, Bill Clinton, too, resorted to executive orders to maintain his momentum as president. With Congress unwilling to pass anything he proposed, the president canvassed the Administration for ideas that could be implemented by executive orders. A very productive period followed during which tobacco regulation, higher educational standards, affirmative action reform, and other key measures were implemented without asking Congress' permission. But Clinton's executive orders were on subjects on which Congress had not voted. They did not contradict the express will of the body. Obama is using the strategy to act in direct defiance of Congressional action. He is passing ideas Congress refused to pass, even when he had huge majorities.
Obama will live to regret these moves. Republicans in the House will defund these actions and insert legislative language making it a crime to spend appropriated funds to implement them. By this strategy, all of the controversial Obama legislation will be at issue during the budget fight — taxes, Obamacare, cap and trade, and card check. The more these issues are inserted into the budget fight, the greater the chances of Republican victory.
So President Obama has not learned the lessons of 2010 and likely never will.

Alaska's Gail Fenumiai - The Fox Guarding the Hen House in US Senate ballot count

Alaska's Gail Fenumiai - The Fox Guarding the Hen House

By Thomas Lamb | 11/22/10 | 2:54 AM EST |

Last Friday, Federal District Court Judge Ralph Beistline granted U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller's motion seeking a stay on certifying the election and retained federal jurisdiction in the matter. In his motion, Miller indicated he would be conducting a hand count given a ruling that would adhere to the strict standard of Alaska's election laws. The success of the hand count would hinge on how many of Miller's ballots were not counted.
Given the importance of a hand count, according to a source, when two of Joe Miller's observers went to check in on an audit the Alaska Division of Elections was conducting, the observers witnessed that there was no security at the audit and the observers witnessed an election worker taking ballots and putting them in their personal vehicle.
According to state law, the Division of Elections is to provide for security.
All official ballots in the possession of election officials, whether voted or not voted, shall be kept in a secure manner until destroyed in accordance with law. The director shall provide for the security of ballots during transportation and storage under AS 44.62 (Administrative Procedure Act). Ms. Fenumiai clearly violated state law by allowing ballots to be transported in an unsecured manner.   What else hasn't been reported in the news is: an audit (audit is in attachment below) was conducted on 40 (out of 438) precincts in Alaska and out of the 40 precincts while most had a 100% accuracy in the vote count, some had a significant amount of votes missed.
In District 24, precinct 555, there were 43 missed votes. In District 33, precinct 710, there were 70 missed votes and in District 37, precinct 714, there were 28 missed votes. There were other precincts that had from 1 to 6 missed votes, but given there have been questions on if Joe Miller could gain ground on Lisa Murkowski's undisputed votes, the audit suggests that indeed, Joe Miller could gain on the undisputed votes. Moreover, there is a question on 1500 write-in votes that had been found on the last day of the count. On the Division of Elections; website there is the figure 102252 write-in votes.. On the same website, in another link, the total of write-in votes is 103805. The two figure are in contradiction to each other and according to a source, the division's director stated that approximately 1500 ballots had not been counted because the ovals were not filled in.

The question is where did the ballots end up in the count. Were they put in the challenged ballots not counted? No, because the figure is only 2016 and it grew by a few hundred votes the next day. Other ballots were entered into the challenged not counted group. Were the ballots entered into the challenged ballots not counted? No, because the count did not raise by 1500 votes from the previous day. So were the newly found ballots placed into the write-in count? There is only one place the 1500 votes could have been placed and that is in Murkowski's undisputed count.
The idea that Murkowski has approximately a 2000 ballot lead, it is setting on a shaky footing in that there are ballots that should have been challenged in her undisputed count.
Adding to the question on the integrity of the count, affidavits have been filed stating there are ballots that have the same handwriting on them with no indication that they were ballots cast by people with disabilities. There were missing ballots and envelopes with ballots that were not properly sealed. And voter roles with similar signatures on the signature block.
There is one interesting fact that was told to me and it deals with logs that date back to the 2008 presidential election and this election. From what was told, the information contained in the logs is damning. All I can say is, once this case unfolds, Governor Parnell and Lt. Governor Campbell will have a big blemish on their record given they let Ms. Fenumiai guard the hen house.

Joe Miller - Beating Back Bad Election Case Law and Discrimination

By Thomas Lamb | 11/19/10 | 5:51 AM EST

The Miller campaign has filed a motion in federal court seeking an injunction to stop the Alaska Division of Elections from certifying the U.S. Senate election.
In support of the motion, former Lt. Governor Loren Leman filed an affidavit in support of the motion.
The affidavit can be read here.
The bottom line in the affidavit is: the argument over a candidate being misspelled on a ballot was never addressed.
Interestingly, Loren Leman pointed to the case Edgmon vs. The State of Alaska that was handed down by the Alaska Supreme Court.
The gist of the argument hinged on the concept of voter intent and ignored federal case law, namely the U.S. Supreme Court decision, Bush vs. Gore.
And I imagine the State of Alaska will continue with their efforts to try and have the case dismissed from the federal court.
If the state is not successful and the federal court maintains jurisdiction and hears the case, the State of Alaska will most likely try to use state court decisions to show that the states are in agreement on case law and no conflict among the states exists.
If the State of Alaska does argue this point, they will be arguing from a weak point in that the case decision in Edgmon vs. The State of Alaska is flawed in that the decision has opened the door for corruption in the election process to occur and the Alaska Supreme Court's decision is in conflict with Bush.
In Edgmon, The Alaska Supreme Court stated that overvotes should not be thrown out:

The third allegedly overvoted ballot has an "X" in the oval next to Moses's name and a line striking through Edgmon's name and the oval next to it.   This ballot is not overvoted and should be counted.   In all other races, the voter indicated a vote with a single "X" in the oval next to one candidate's name.   The line extending through Edgmon's name cannot be said to indicate an intent to cast a vote for Edgmon.   Instead, a marking crossing or striking out a candidate's name accompanied by a vote for the other candidate suggests an emphatic vote against a candidate.   Where accompanied by an "X" in the oval next to the other candidate's name in the same manner as all other votes on the ballot, the line through Edgmon's name and the oval next to it is a stray marking.   The ballot is not overvoted and should be counted as a vote for Moses.

There was a reason why a strict adherence to the law was argued by then Lt. Governor Loren Leman. Trying to to determine voter's intent when the ballot has been altered, is unquestionably foolhardy because the ballots can be altered after  the vote is cast.
To say otherwise is naive and is the reason why voter fraud can exist.
The following picture makes this argument.

According to the Alaska Supreme Court's case decision on voter intent, this overvote should be counted.
The question should be asked, should it? The answer is no because given that the original vote was cast in black ink and then crossed out, this should cause concern that the vote was changed after the original vote was cast.
Trying to determine voter intent would be like trying to predict the future. You can't.
Interestingly in the photo, it is evident that a change was made to the oval to the right that was related to the bond issues. The oval was also filled in with a blue ink pen. You have to ask, were the ovals left blank by the person who used the black pen?
The Alaska Supreme Court's case decision can in fact, lead to a voter being disenfranchised by their vote being changed and it doesn't have to happen with a different colored pen.
And as had been shown in a previous post, the Alaska Division of Elections ignored the Alaska Supreme Court's ruling by ignoring a vote where the oval was crossed out next to a written Lisa Murkowski and the oval was marked in for Scott McAdams.
The Alaska Division of Elections has acted in a discriminatory manner in this election, thus raising the protection found in the Voting Rights Act

The Act established extensive federal oversight of elections administration, providing that states with a history of discriminatory voting practices (so-called "covered jurisdictions") could not implement any change affecting voting without first obtaining the approval of the Department of Justice, a process known as preclearance.[5]

The Alaska Division of Elections has treated similar overvote ballots cast, in a different manner.
That is a clear violation of federal law and the federal constitution..
It can be said, if the photo above was entered into evidence, an argument can call into question the Alaska Supreme Court's ruling making the proper jurisdiction for this case the federal court.
Moreover, Miller is in the position of establishing a case decision that can overturn a bad case decision handed down by the Alaska Supreme Court that can lead to a corrupted election process.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead
Weekly Feature
To say the least, it's been an incredible week of recognition for the FairTax movement. No less than three TV news shows discussed the impact of the FairTax, multiple columns ran across the nation and a volunteer booked a FairTax spokesman on the Fox Business Network by starting a FairTax conversation on Facebook!
Look at how far we've come! Take the 2000 and 2004 Presidential campaigns for example, where nochuck one even mentioned the FairTax. But by 2008, seven candidates running for the office voiced their support for the FairTax legislation. CNN even demonstrated that Americans liked what they heard! In the most recent elections the FairTax was a nationally recognized issue in dozens of races and won big.
The research backing our claims has been relevant to our economy from the beginning. The FairTax bill in Congress hasn't changed even as political control has dramatically shifted. The trends are going our way but what's made this all happen? Your efforts. FairTax volunteers carried on through it all and now we can look back and enjoy our successes.
So stay engaged with all the tools we have on FairTax.org and plug into local efforts by contacting a volunteer leader in your area. We're more organized, more hopeful and more determined to change Washington with our message than ever before but we need all FairTaxers in this fight.
Thank you!
P.S. This explanation of world trade and the FairTax is the best we've seen in a long time and is a must watch! The Fox Business Network even put up a graphic that identified Congressman Bilbray as a co-sponsor of the Fair Tax Act.
Grassroots Spotlight: Volunteers
Individual efforts have been absolutely key this week. Here are two examples.
On Wednesday's nationally syndicated Laura Ingraham show, she talked about a national sales tax. Doug Friedrichsen, a volunteer leader in Louisiana, was able to call in and educate her about the FairTax. Later, her website had a poll between a flat income tax, the FairTax and our current system. The FairTax was 30 points behind until a post on our Facebook Fan page prompted hundreds of supporters to take action and the FairTax won by 30%!
Thursday, our volunteer Indiana State Director, Danny Higgins, heard that Eric Bolling of Follow the Money on the Fox Business Network had misspoke about the FairTax. Danny found his Facebook page, politely corrected him and linked to a FairTax video. Then Eric responded! Danny asked if he'd like to have a spokesman on his show and within four hours we were filming for it! Look for that video next week.
Is someone your FairTax inspiration? Nominate a volunteer to be in the spotlight by sending an email to info@fairtax.org with "Grassroots Spotlight" in the subject line.
FairTax in the News Nothing Certain Except Death and a FairTax - Chuck Norris
If America ever needed economic stability, it is now. And that is why I'm espousing that we advance on our new representatives to address the one thing that could stabilize and rebuild our economy: tax reform (or, even better, replacement)...
It's time we had a system through which people don't have to figure out ways to cheat in order to save their money. As my friend Mike Huckabee says, "the FairTax is a completely transparent tax system. It doesn't increase taxes. It's revenue-neutral. But here's what it will do: It will bring business back to the United States that is leaving our shores because our tax laws make it impossible for an American-based business to compete. ... The FairTax was designed by economists from Harvard and Stanford and some of the leading think tanks across the country."...
To put it simply, our representatives need to answer today the question Thomas Jefferson asked at the dawn of our republic: "Would it not be better to simplify the system of taxation rather than to spread it over such a variety of subjects and pass the money through so many new hands?"...
Tax Factor Is Key to Making Investment Decisions -  MoneyNews.com
I usually hear about some great investment ideas while relaxing with a few colleagues over cocktails.

The regale me with their latest enticing investment strategy that will generate just a bit of a higher rate of return. What I don't usually hear about is whether this return will be after tax...
To be accurate, some in Congress have been pushing a tax system based on cash for years. The Fair Tax Act 2007, for example, did provide a laundry list of why the current income-tax system must be repealed. But this is not going to get very far unless those in Congress change the rules of how they raise money for elections from lobbyists.

The income system, designed for an economy that no longer exists, is perhaps, too great a political cash cow for it to be abandoned in favor of something that raises fewer campaign contributions — even if that might actually save the economy of the United States.
