Million American Jobs Project

Family & Friends,

This short video tells us how we can turn our economy around very easily.
This simple action can add one million jobs in the U.S almost immediately.
Passing the FairTax, which will reduce the cost of American produced goods and services by about 20% because it removes hidden taxes from our costs, will allow American business and labor compete with the rest of the world on a level playing field for the first time in generations.
Take a look at the FairTax at www.fairtax.org.

AFFT calls on Congress to eliminate IRS targeting by enacting the FairTax® Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AFFT calls on Congress to eliminate IRS targeting by enacting the FairTax®.

HOUSTON, TX - May16, 2013 - Americans For Fair Taxation® (AFFT), outraged by the Internal Revenue Service's (IRS) continued political abuse and intimidation of citizens and organizations, is calling on Congress to immediately enact HR 25/S 122, the FairTax® Act of 2013 and phase out the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). "No person or group is safe from IRS targeting; everyone is a bull’s eye," said AFFT spokesperson Cynthia T. Canevaro.

She added, "The agency, with over 90,000 employees and an annual budget in excess of $12 billion, has historically been the ultimate tool of extreme political manipulation by politicians of both major parties. That’s exactly what our Founding Fathers feared."

"These types of abuses of are nothing new," said Dan Mastromarco, tax attorney and co-author of HR 25/S 122. He added, "In 1819, Former Chief Justice John Marshall warned in McCulloch v. Maryland that, ‘An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily, a power to destroy.’ The FairTax Act is the only way in which Congress can once and for all eliminate the harassment, political exploitation and selective enforcement against perceived dissidents. It levels the playing field and redistributes power to the citizens who pay the taxes."

The FairTax Plan is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll based taxes with a national retail sales tax, a "prebate" to ensure no American pays federal taxes on spending up to the poverty level, dollar-for-dollar federal revenue neutrality and, through companion legislation, the repeal of the 16th Amendment, which authorized the creation of the income tax.

"Congress has enabled IRS activities with more than 5,000 code changes in just 11 years, and even expanded their scope to include enforcement of major provisions of Obamacare," said Canevaro. "Congress created this problem. They now have an opportunity to correct it by enacting the FairTax Plan and asking the President to join them in signing the measure into law."

A Future Consumption Tax to Fix Today's Economy

Alan B. Krueger is an economics professor at Princeton.
Any casual observer knows the United States faces enormous economic challenges in both the short and long run. These challenges — and the respective solutions that are being discussed — are somewhat in conflict, though. ...  http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/01/12/a-future-consumption-tax-to-fix-todays-economy/

my comment:
Consumption tax is the change we need in our tax structure. But we cannot trust DC with both that and keeping the IRS code.  Why not be bold and go to FairTax House Resolution 25 and Senate Resolution 13? Get rid of the IRS totally as this arcane tax embeds all federal tax in the price of domestic product making it impossible for USA Industry to compete with imports, thus the reason we have gotten tot eh end of our fiscal rope after 30 years of jobs lost overseas due to Reagan implementing free trade policy while also implementing a flat tax plan that kept the IRS.
The current IRS tax code is regressive and to add a consumption tax on top would be devastating, as today, the poor have to pay for hidden taxes in even bread, about 22% of the cost. FairTax removes all these embedded taxes and makes all spending up to the ceiling level of the poverty wage non-taxes for every Citizen, rich or poor, via the Prebate.
I agree a consumption tax is what the USA needs, but we need one that ends the lobby graft of selling over 1,200 amendments for the rich since Reagan placed in the current flat tax, which to go to another flat tax is but hitting the recycle button for this graft.  Go to www.FairTax.org and find more answers and charts to what FairTax will do for you.
The greatest value of FairTax is more jobs then workers, thus a healthy economy if we can end the unconstitutional spending and controls of the Federal Government, like, stopping the Federal Reserve from maintaining an at least 5% unemployment pool of workers, thus not allowing for inflation to be caused by workers wages. That is what makes a healthy economy, one that cycles with or without such control. WAKE UP!!!
