Taxes, government spending, debt protested

MIDLAND, Mich. -- An organizational meeting April 24 is planned to follow up on two Midland rallies attended Wednesday by protesters of taxation, government spending, bailouts and debt.

More than 500 people rallied outside the Midland County Courthouse Wednesday evening — some with signs.  That rally was among Midland County's largest political events in modern times.

Hundreds of postcards to President Barack Obama and congressional leaders were signed, demanding an end to "taxation without deliberation, bailouts, out of control spending and borrowing."

A container held contributions to buy postage.

Several "Don't tread on me" flags in the crowd were reminiscent of the American Revolution.

Sustained chants of "USA! USA! USA" came several times during the hourlong rally, which began around 6:30 p.m.

Some members of the courthouse crowd also participated in a noon event outside Midland City Hall. It attracted approximately 60 people — many with homemade protest signs.

Those two TEA Parties were among many such rallies across the United States on the deadline date for income tax filing.

After the courthouse rally, its organizer — Jayme Hazen of Mount Haley Township — said an organizational meeting will be held at 7 p.m. April 24 at Midland Christian School for continued opposition to big government and socialism.

 "We're going to have a grassroots movement in this county.... We're going to take our government back," Hazen said.

 Some people want to picket in front of the office of U.S. Rep. Dave Camp, a Midland Republican, because of "earmarks" — federally funded projects — he supported, Hazen said.

The local movement, which hasn't been named, will have a website and blogging, Hazen said.

Hazen hadn't previously organized a political rally. Mother of three children, she is a Sunday school teacher, Midland Christian School bookeekper and owner of a business with her husband.

The noon rally outside Midland City Hall was organized by Ann Marie Monaghan of Coleman — an Air Force veteran and mother of six. She'd thought she might be the only person at that rally.

Kathleen Stewart of Midland helped start the courthouse event by singing "It Aint Your Money To Spend." She wrote the music and her brother Steve Jones of Atlanta, Ga., recently wrote the lyrics of the song, downloaded thousands of times from the website http://www.kathleensings.com

Hazen spoke after Joseph G. Lehman, president of the Midland-based, free-market think tank the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, and Midland County resident Gary Glenn, president of the American Family Association of Michigan.

Glenn advocated replacing the income tax with taxation "of what we choose to buy."

 "The side benefit" would be elimination of the Internal  Revenue Service, he said. That brought a big cheer from many in the crowd.

Lehman said: "Defenders of big government say taxes have to be high to help people in need. But does anybody really believe that? Do you know anyone at all who, if he wanted to help the poor, would send a check to Washington, D.C.?"

Lehman also told the crowd: "Our founders gave us a heritage of freedom. We must not give our posterity a heritage of debt and virtually limitless government."

Some of the homemade signs at the courthouse read  "Spend your money not mine," "Term limit D.C. " and "Here comes Congress. Hide Your wallet."

Outside City Hall, supportive drivers honked horns — and some raised a thumb — to approximately 40 protesters along Jerome Street.

Other protesters were on the plaza near City Hall and the Midland County Services Building.

Monaghan said there might be another such rally next year, and that some of the people who registered at the noon rally might be future rally leaders or willing to help others get information on topics.

 

Signs at the City Hall rally had various themes. Some objected to policies of President Obama. But some participants said they criticize Democratic and Republican officeholders alike.

"Wake up sheep," read one sign a man held up outside City Hall for people in passing vehicles to read.  Also outside City Hall, Michelle Schull of Harrison carried the American flag she and her husband fly outside their home.

Schull, 43, said that when she was in school she and her fellow students didn't use the world trillion in math class.

Now, she said, its an everyday U.S. governmental word.

"That just amazes me. That scares me," she told a reporter.

FBI spied on TEA Party Americans

19 April 2009: Even as average Americans were planning to get out in towns and cities to demonstrate against Big Government and Big Taxes, Federal Bureau of Intelligence Investigation (FBI) surveillance was being unleashed upon them.  In fact, unsuspecting Tax Day TEA Party participants were being closely watched during the demonstration planning stages in a covert operation that began on or about March 23, 2009.

If you one of the estimated 750,000 Americans who attended one of about 600 TEA parties last week, you might have seen media cameras covering the event. Media cameras, however, were not the only cameras taking video at these events, something  that  has at least one current FBI agent concerned over the future of America. According to this agent - the same agent who provided the Northeast Intelligence Network (NEIN) exclusively the unreleased photographs of the 11 missing Egyptian students who were the subject of a FBI BOLO in August 2006–placed his concerns for true patriots of the U.S. over his own career when he confided that covert surveillance was "planned and performed" at each of the TEA parties that took place last Tuesday.

"Listen to what I am saying," stated the source during an interview with Doug Hagmann,  founder (NEIN).  "The Department of Homeland Security Intelligence Assessment that is receiving so much attention is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg, and the true patriotic citizens of this country are on the Titanic. This is what bothers me. But is goes far beyond that assessment. There have been very significant changes made over the last few years that redirect the focus and assets of the intelligence community internally. These changes have greatly accelerated under this administration, and the threats have been redefined to include those who used to be patriots. It's not only chilling but absolutely insulting to God-fearing Americans."

According to this unimpeachable source, a single-page confidential directive issued by the FBI headquarters in Washington, DC (FBIHQ) was sent to each of the 56 field offices located across the United States on or about March 23, 2009, instructing the Special Agents in Charge (SACs) of those offices to verify the date, time and location of each TEA Party within their region and supply that information to FBI headquarters in Washington. The source stated this correspondence termed the TEA parties "political demonstrations," and added that the dissemination of the directive was very tightly controlled. "Not all agents were privy to this correspondence," stated the source, who compared the dissemination to an older "Do Not File" classification.

In addition to obtaining or confirming the location and time of each "demonstration," each field office was instructed to obtain or confirm the identity of the individual(s) involved in the actual planning and coordination of the event in each specific region, and include the local or regional Internet web site address, if any.  The information collected by region was then reportedly sent to FBI Headquarters.

The source alleges that a second directive was issued on or about  April 6,  2009 that reportedly instructed each SAC to coordinate and conduct, either at the field office level and/or with the appropriate resident agency, covert video surveillance and data collection of the participants of the TEA parties.  Surveillance was to be performed from "discreet fixed or mobile positions" and was to be performed "independently and outside of the purview of local law enforcement."

Although the level of detail collected from each operation is unclear, the information was reportedly submitted to Washington, where, "at the level of the National Security Branch (NSB), this information was to "include the office of the Directorate of Intelligence (DI), and integrated with a restricted access database, one that reportedly is accessible to only two agencies" [of the 14 agencies that comprise the U.S. intelligence community, according to the source.

"The implications to the citizens of the U.S. are ominous. It seems that there is a hostile political agenda coming from Washington that characterizes the supporters of our constitutional freedoms as threats to our domestic security, which is totally absurd. The redirection, the refocusing of domestic threats from al Qaeda cells to 'flag waving right-wingers' is something that has gone from a murmur a few years ago to a roar today."

Training government-issued cameras on ordinary citizens,  many of whom brought their children to an estimated 600 Tax Day TEA Parties is a page torn out of George Orwell's 1984  and makes the term "God Bless America" more meaningful than ever.

Liberty and The 10th Amendment

I'm glad that others are beginning to seriously discuss the 10th Amendment.  When I was chair of the National Governors Association, it was something I spoke of often as well as during the Presidential campaign.  While we need to be diligent in speaking out against the overreaching of the federal government, to seriously talk of secession is a very different matter. 

Actual advocacy of secession from the union is advocating something that has substantial legal consequences.  Such talk is surely overheated political hyperbole and not serious policy discussion.   To seriously advance such a view is to take a step toward treason.  While our founding fathers did in fact start a revolution and were guilty of treason, albeit justified, against the British government, they thoughtfully engaged in a process that they believed were necessary to preserve their liberty.   While I strongly disagree with many policies of our government, I love my country still and believe that elections still are a more appropriate manner to bring change than to attempt to overthrow our government by force, which is a dangerous suggestion and one not fitting for any elected official, even if in the context of exaggerated political bravado.

Presently, there are at least twenty five States that have the proposed Legislation before them to Affirm the Tenth Amendment as the Law of the Land.  The State of Arizona Legislative House has Passed the same Affirmation as Texas has.  In asking of some Michigan State Legislatures, every one I talked to will vote for it.  What has already shown up is the fear that comes with the same fear we find in the upcoming legislation to demand any rifle with a clip having to be registered and subject to monitoring with a five year penalty of Law.  The tin foil hats are right about the One World Currency as the SDR is about to issue 250 Billion.  The tin foil hats are also warning of Desserts that have been fitted camps capable of housing millions.  The U.S. Army Brigade is placed on homeland soil under the definition of a Contingency Plan.  Obama has made foreign campaigns to be under the same umbrella, contingency to man made disasters.  Out further on the end point of the Foil hat is the witness of Blue Helmets doing exercises.  Does this sound like an extreme view of the information out there?

 

Besides, We have another path to follow.  One Law made simply calling intentional deceit as a crime would solve much. 

 

Law, what is it if you dismiss one part in common thought, what does that do with the rest of the Law?.  The Founders fixed that by providing for the Article Six of the Constitution, that amendments may be presented by either the Congress or the States by a 35 co-sponsor to a convention.  Yet, the Law today is suffice to end the Tyranny we are experiencing in this blind stupor brought on by the Dance provided by the Congress, pretending to play one against the other, while al the time despotizing the powers enumerated.

 

It is a wise Body who decides to meet up when they are all having trouble with the Administration Board, who has decided they know best and has ran over the Laws of the Board of the whole body of States in this particular point in time.

 

Jesus said, "The Truth will set you free".  What he also said without saying it is that lying will bind you into despair.

 

Our Nation is being bankrupt right before our eyes.  They are now saying that there is not any capital in the 5 largest banks.  Once that is verified, the violators of the freedom of information act, the Federal Reserve will have to show us the books.  One wonders what they have done.  Either way, the next two years will produce an budget that will be impossible to feed without more borrowing, if we are not bankrupt now.

 

Simply put, what Governor Perry has done is become the One who took his job seriously and became the Next Sam Houston.  One can find fault in another, no one has perfection.  What makes the difference is when one hears the clarion call and acts, that makes for Providence. 

 

The Federal Government should be shaking in their boots, for the people are stepping up of all, young and old, Pastors to Doctorates, with the disenfranchised hearing that there just might be a reason to vote after all.  The opening salvo of the People came when a Patriot in the moment stood up on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade, home of the President and declared that enough was enough.  We don't need to do this!  Someone should give that man a job so he can get out of the pit and be a warrior.  Our Second Revolution is not by Blood, but by Spirit.  We don't have time to wait for two years.  We  need to put these congressman under the fire and get their voting done by the line in the Sand stating that if anyone is found to have violated the Constitution of the United States after said date, they shall be prosecuted by the full extent of the Law.!!!

 

Alexander Hamilton was one who pushed for a Nationalist Federal Government, but he also knew a fact as we do of the Bible.  If you can take one part out of it and call it not real, what makes the rest of it worthy of real?  (Thus the Article Six)  Founding Father Hamilton stated of the Good Behavior term as it is to be used in the Supreme Court, in that by the fundamental interpretation of the Law shall a Justice be in good behavior, one rule, one truth and  the Law

 

Federalist 78, by Alexander Hamilton - in part:

 

...As to the tenure by which the judges are to hold their places; this chiefly concerns their duration in office; the provisions for their support; the precautions for their responsibility.

According to the plan of the convention, all judges who may be appointed by the United States are to hold their offices during good behavior; which is conformable to the most approved of the State constitutions and among the rest, to that of this State. Its propriety having been drawn into question by the adversaries of that plan, is no light symptom of the rage for objection, which disorders their imaginations and judgments. The standard of good behavior for the continuance in office of the judicial magistracy, is certainly one of the most valuable of the modern improvements in the practice of government. The mindset of the Founding Fathers is one of the highest Intellect, for by the Providence of the Document did the Blessings overflow.  So to we face becoming the book that Obama pointed to as he shook hands with, Cortez is it?  His Counter is Sarah Palin.  Who do we Prefer for a oil tycoon.  Speaking of which, Teddy Roosevelt made the Federal Government owners of property in the States, a violation of the Constitution.  Each State is soul proprietors of the Land and the Resources, to include oil, intra-trade, Common Law.  (case law is your enemy, if not second)  Drill here, Drill now South Dakota, Montana. 

 

Now back to the tin foil hat, I heard that oil is not a fossil fuel.  Wow, that might explain how it got a thousand feet underground.  Where does it come from?  God knows.  Oh my, so does a cell.

If everyone knew everything there is to know they would not do half of the things they do, including myself, therefore I have to forgive them, including myself. 

When there is not time to wait for another vote, a Fourth of July Picnic at the Washington Capital, tents and all, would be a great event to behold.  (/12/2009 is serious, much like 9/12-2001)

Love you Governor Huckabee, keep us under the Law.  Do the socialism under the Board of Governors and give us the Fair Tax with Constitutional spending!!!

That reminded me, for the etiquette of not allowing the Congress to challenge Law in Court, that is understandable as is a free sign on an ice cream cart, but if someone takes the cart, I would hope that etiquette kicks in!  At the very Least, when the Federal Government challenges a State who decides that a law is unconstitutional and ignores it by drilling for oil anyway, said State can take it to the Supreme Court, who are by the decree of the affirmation of the tenth Amendment, under the Good Behavior Clause of the Constitution.  If the upcoming violation of the Constitution which does not authorize the Federal Government any say so in the affairs of the States pertaining to the Right of Individual Arms (Mexico would be better off armed)  happens, Every State in the Union may co-sponsor a complaint in a Court of their Choosing.  Our Federal Government is no different then the Security Department, other then they have all the money(that is insane).  Time to get behind what Governor Perry has endorsed, one and all.  What say you Huck?  You are the Vanguard
